Is it possible to retrofit the G20 auxiliary battery?

Some folks have a small battery under the hood. My G20 does not. Can it be retrofitted?

Is that where the 48v hybrid battery goes if fitted? It is a big empty hole on my G21. Seems a lot of wasted space?

I was going to hold a poll to see what the funniest thing to keep there would be!

Wait, isn't the battery in the trunk? The 48v? Mine is.

The starter (main) 12v is in the trunk.
The hybrids have an auxiliary under the hood.
I'd like to add one.
Our Mercedes W205 has an auxiliary battery. It takes care of all electronics in start/stop conditions. It can power the fan/radio for at least 6 hours once fully charged. A clever trick is if the starter is flat then the car could even be jumped from the auxiliary.
I thought it'd be worth it as I have the space there but I guess there would be a lot of coding and that would then invalidate the warranty on the electronics.

Thanks for the clarification!

If you don't open the bonnet you won't see the space.

And why would you want to weigh your car down with something that's not supposed to there?!

I have this battery installed on a 320d 'Sport' and wondered what it's purpose was?
