Doors

So, observation of something unusual. When exiting the car, as you probably have experienced, a soon as you open up the door the iDrive system turns off. Few days ago noticed that instead of turning off when I open the driver side door off, it now turns off when the left side front passenger door opens.

It's no biggie as it turns off when I lock the car of course but it's weird none the less.

Car is still on 11/19 software btw.

Hi

I am on the same software and have also noticed some inconstancies.

Find that if I open the door immediately after stopping the iDrive switches off.

If I take longer to exit say listen to the radio for a while iDrive stays on until the car is locked.

The way its supposed to work is, it will turn off when the last of the front passengers tries to leave. So, if as a driver you open your door but there is a passenger still sat down, it won't turn off. When the passenger opens their door that's when it will shut off.

So what I am thinking is either you had something heavy on the passenger seat (which makes it think there is a person there), or the sensor in the seat may be faulty.

Funny, I've noticed my radio hasn't been turning off when I open the driver's door for the last couple of weeks too!

I thought it was just me.

That makes sense. let's see what happens when I'm out in the car in a few days.
