Mine came back from the dealer after having the latest firmware update to the iDrive and I can confirm that it fixes nothing in relation to Connected Drive.

It only seems to update randomly as yesterday it was showing my cars location on the motorway some 4 miles away from where my car is actually parked on my driveway.

I’ve stopped relying on it now and only use it to pre condition the car in the mornings.

Considering on the App Store they state that they update the app regularly.......... obviously the app developers don’t have a BMW, don’t use the app or don’t get owners to beta test the app.

Have you noticed anything missing after the update?

Mine came back with the auto welcome lights not working as you approach the vehicle when it senses the key near by, home lights no longer work for the time set in the idrive, when unlocking with the key I have got in the car and nearly started the engine by the time the welcome headlights come on, camera activation points don't work at the right location and the whole thing is very slow.

Been back in twice and dealer doesn't have a clue even telling me the welcome light function has to be activated using the key and not when you approach the vehicle!

The welcome light has always been an operation I had to perform from the key and never auto. (I’ve not got the keyless entry on my option)

All other functions are there and working as they did on the last update with no delays as you mention.

Just taken delivery of my car today. Connected drive seems to be working well so far - with the exception of driving data / journey efficiency etc. These are all blank?

Have you set it to show current journey as there are a number of options?

Yes in the car, on journey data you can make changes to what data it shows you.

Same here. The Portal on Cockpit settings has a “Set departure time” icon which directs only to “Climitise now”
Frequently fails to update charging status or sync with the App. Pretty poor really for a premium product with no apparent attempt to address these issues.

In the virtual cockpit section - not on app on main website. It’s a drop down menu - think it’s efficiency or similar

I don't have anything like this on the connected drive website. only menu I have is status, control and map.

Since 1st of Jan 4:42PM I don’t receive car updates anymore and remote lock/unlock always fails. Same for the connected drive portal. I did a hard reboot of the iDrive system (press and hold volume button) and reinstalled the app, but nothing seems to work. On the portal I can see that my car is driving, but it isn’t ... any advice?

Welcome to our World. The Portal is a pretty much useless half finished work in progress.

Anyone had any success in using 3D View? Had read on YouTube that ios versions worked so tried that on a relatives phone to no avail.
Funny thing was I saw the same colour car in the default silver colour but had different wheels and the radar on show to the android version I see on my phone which just showed a basic sport version

So you can see the cars actual surroundings only it's not your car you actually see?

Yep, can't really see now as the drive is dark and camera dirty but at first I also had the show room. In daylight with clean camera picture quality is really good.
