What are average times from order to delivery? There seems to be a huge variation and I'd be interested if that's by model or other influences. Also, whether purchase / PCH or lease / PCP.
My dealer tells me the big lease buyers (i.e. Alphabet) have so many pre-booked build slots that they can still get built to spec. two weeks before production scheduled / locked down.
I ordered my G21 330i M-Sport on 20th Jan (Alphabet lease) as dealer said they could secure a build slot in week 5 and sure enough car was built on 5th Feb. Dealer expects arrival to them in week 8 which should allow for a March 1st delivery. If that happens then that's just 5 and a bit weeks which is pretty good. However, I know some have been waiting ages...

My car currently on order (a 330i M Sport saloon) was ordered mid-January. It was listed as 'in-stock' but it's not at the dealers yet. I've been told that is the 1st week of March. My current car isn't due to be returned until late April, and they have said the car has to be registered by the end of March. They will hold onto it for a further week.

The car may have already been build as the only choice was the paint colour (and not all of them either). The only option added is Sun Protection Glass, and no opportunity to change anything. So perhaps it's just waiting to be shipped over.

My car is leased and through Alphabet.

Ordered a 330e on Christmas Eve. Personal purchase via PCP.
Delivered to Dealer on 8th February.

To spec - but nothing too extravagant:

M Sport Plus pack
Comfort Plus pack
Technology Plus pack
Glass Sunroof

No individual paint / fancy leather etc.

For many people, ordering a brand new BMW is the last thing on their mind.

I'm guessing the order books are quite empty at the moment, and maybe BMW are just building cars to keep the factories open and the workers busy.

Anyone with a 'non-stock' order might be able to jump the queue.

I ordered individual paint on an M340i, so a bit of an anomaly, but I ordered mid-late July and should take delivery mid-March... quite a wait!!

I ordered an M340i G21 on the 31-01-21, the mail from the dealer states expected date 11-03-21, I’m assuming that is the start of the build - so not expecting it to to arrive before end of April.

I finally settled on the exact spec just before Xmas and it’s been built now and expected delivery week 8 for March 1 registration.

We ordered a G21 on 25th Jan, dealer has told me it’s being built this week and expected with them week 9, first week of March. Very happy with that. We have just cancelled an order with VW which was looking at taking 12 months!!!

It’s in Oxide Grey and we are buying on pcp.

Just need to find out how to track my order now - can anyone advise please?

Go to online genius, give them your order number, and they’ll tell you exactly where it is. Last Friday mine said production completed but I haven’t looked again. Might check again tomorrow, hopefully on the way to Bremerhaven.

Mine is now showing "Departed Plant" so I'm guessing on a train on the way to Bremerhaven.

I tried the “online genius” but it was just generic answers after you typed something. Am I missing something? I went on the Live Chat and they said it’s “status 190, despatched from AG”. Did you mean this, the Live Chat?

G22 ordered november only going into production 15th march with a mid April delivery

Ordered my G20 330e M Sport Plus with Tech and Premium Pack, extended storage, Metallic Black with black leather on December 12th 2019, delivered to UK dealer in 1st week August 2020, on drive 1st September 2020 (my choice to wait for the 70 plate).

It's a Lex Autolease car, that lost around 3 months while the engine plant shut for CV19, ended up as a July 20 build.

I'm sure that works out around 16 working weeks 🤷🏻*♂️

Still had my 2016 F30 330e M Sport Plus on the drive so was slightly less of a struggle than it sounds 😉

Ordered a G20 M340d on a PCH contract on the 18th December 2020 its being financed by Arval.Build is week 8 week commencing 22nd February with delivery week 11 week commencing 15th March. Went for a Standard colour Mineral Grey but built to my spec so Shadow line,HK,tech pack
