330i US Deliveries get the green light!

Looks like BMW won't make us wait until March to deliver the new 3 series. They will be available for delivery as soon as they arrive over the next few weeks.

Thanks for the update. On average, does your dealer intend to offer any discounts off MSRP for the initial wave? My guess is no, but it seems like BMW is really counting on this 3 to succeed after losing some ground with the F30.

I just contacted Costco. The dealer who contacted me through Costco quoted me invoice +$1250. We did not discuss BMW Club or other deductions.

Can you do custom orders through that program?

Yes, as far as I know. Since there aren't any G20s, and won't for a while. I checked Audi through Costco. They sent me to a fairly local dealer & I tested A5s and S5s for three hours intending to order a new '19. After that I decided that the new Audi was not as good a car as my existing '16 340. FWIW, the A5 would have been invoice -500, and the S5, inv. +1200.

My personal situation/problem is that my lease ends the end of Feb., and after eliminating the Audi, I plan to replace it with either a new 340 or a Genesis G70, but that ain't avail. in Cal-land yet either.

I have no issue discounting them. The more I sell the more they give me.

Thanks for the info on the Audi A5/S5, I've been eyeing those also. I think I remember reading your impressions on those.

How about a leftover 2018 M3? Or is that too similar?

Just an FYI

Bmw financial will let you extend your lease up to 3 months no questions asked and 6 if you have a car on order

I test drove an S5 when it first came out last year. I found the transmission/engine tuning to have a weird lag on throttle tip in if that makes sense.

Apple CarPlay is free on Audi which kind of future proofs it. However, the ui is now a previous gen system compared to their new A6/A7 etc systems.

Their virtual cockpit is better than the live cockpit or whatever BMW called it.

However, iDrive on the center screen is light years ahead of Audi. Even iDrive in my '17 X5 (6.0 I think is what I have) is way better than the A5 lineup.

The throttle lag would drive me nuts. Such a shame since the S5 design looks beautiful.

As far as the Live Cockpit: I played with a M850i last weekend and the iDrive 7 is even better than before. There's no noticeable latency -- it feels just like a high end smartphone. The car is beautiful in real life but jesus it's H-U-G-E I'm 5'9" and felt like a midget sitting inside.

I have read this in some reviews of the S5 as well - something like a transmission lag on the throttle. Have not driven it myself but too bad because it looks good and I like the sport back version.

My dealer just informed me that their G20 release date is 2/14 (nearly perfect timing for me as my 330xi is scheduled to arrive in Baltimore on 2/13).

Hopefully this is correct info. My dealer told me that there is stop sale recall on cars and their cars are waiting at the final processing center.

My dealer said they don't have the G20 yet (even dealer demos) and aren't sure when they will. BMW must be making them wait until all dealers have at least one on the lot?
