Just got my car back from Carbahn. Dealt with Chris MacN and Steve D. Class acts! Great to be able to have Steve be back hands on in the fold.
My car "may" have been one of those early "high hp" cars with 418 crank (using 17% dt loss for awd 8spd auto), IF there is even anything to that.....?
Final numbers 471bhp/510ft/lbs with a great curve. Car drives amazingly smooth with linear power. loooooooove it!!!! See the graph.

For some reason the order is switched between the 2 graphs but easy to figure out the significant gains

So true! My first experience with him was back in the 80's - always been a class act.

My apologies I can't see the graph well given my current location, what was WHP pre and post tune?

Thanks for sharing, love the fact that more tuners are coming on line for this platform

The subject of warranty came up in another thread, so I'm curious in that Carbahn is the only flash tune available with a matching factory warranty option....did you opt for the matching warranty for $750.00

Yes, I have the warranty but the cost is a non issue as they used my car for development.

So glad I came across this! Warranty coverage is critical to me; it's a lease and I absolutely do not want to mess with that. I see my local BMW (Encinitas) is listed as an authorized CarBahn dealer; trying to get a Service Advisor to schedule an install.

I've only had the CarBahn tune for a few weeks and it's great, very noticeable power increase across the power band and no change in daily driving behavior

Got lucky: the BMW dealership I leased my car from is also a CarBahn certified dealer! Dropping the car off this Monday to get that Stage 1 squared away...can't wait!

How is your BMW dealer a certified dealer for the tune?

what does that mean? BMW allows for the tune? you wouldnt have to buy the 750#$ to match bmw warrenty?

Certain BMW dealers are certified to install the tune, they also can install Dinan aftermarket parts, and can be found on the CarBahn website. There was some
sort of "partnership" in the past between BMW and Dinan, I assume CarBahn
has the same since it's Steve Dinan's company

SpiveyCJ is right. Steve Dinan founded CarBahn after he sold Dinan, offering tunes with warranty through certified dealers. And yes, the extra $750 is needed to purchase the warranty...an easy choice given the cost of non-warranty repairs on these money pits should any issues arise.

I spoke with a guy at CarBahn who said many of the tuners left Dinan for CarBahn which could be why Dinan seems to now focus on piggybacks instead of full DME tunes

Went to my local BMW dealer who is listed as a Carbahn dealer to ask about getting the tune. They told me they are not currently doing any tuning (Carbahn or Dinan) due to issues with the DME. Anyone else hearing this kind of feedback?

If you look at the Carbahn website, it says that any models after August 2019, or any vehicle that is up-to-date on software requires the DME to be shipped off.
