Widest tires you put on a 8" wheel?

Hey guys. I got a good deal on an inventory M340i but unfortunately it came with all season tires on the 225/40/19 Bridgestone Turanza.
I really wanted the staggered wheels but it was a good deal to pass on.

If I just go upgrade the tires for more sporty and occasional HPDE, do you think one can safely put 245 pitch tires on the 8" wheels? Every google search says it will accommodate up to 245 but I haven't found reports of people saying whether it makes the car weird on the side roll for example.

Thanks!

I was in a similar situation. I was looking at a square 245/35/19 setup... someone here has installed 245 tires on 8" rims. But in the end I just replaced the rear wheels with wider 8.5" ones and put on 255 tires to stay with the OEM setup.

Where did you purchase your rear wheels from?

I can confirm that a 245 does fit on the 8 inch wheel and 265 on an 8.5 inch. I did it with Pilot Sport 4S.
