No Performance Center deliveries until November 24th?
I ordered my car back on the August 5th, and I told my CA at that time that I wanted to do PCD. However, I just received a call from him to inform me that the Performance Center contacted him and told him they wouldn't be able to do PCD until November 24th! My car will be done in early October, so he says I can either pick it up in October at the dealership or I can wait until November 24th if I still want to do PCD. This is super irritating to me. I obviously really want my car, but I was really excited to do PCD.
Has anyone else who is planning a PCD soon been notified of any similar delay? |

Just to clarify OP, did you buy a 3 series? Is it coming from Germany or Mexico? If Germany, and the car won't be finished until October, then that timing could make sense. I think they usually figure around 6 weeks from completion in Germany to the earliest pickup time at PCD. Qaaq

Yes I ordered a 330i. I'm not sure if Germany or Mexico but the CA said if I cancelled the PCD I would be able to pick it up in October in Atlanta instead of waiting for PCD.

Have they assigned your car a vin # yet? That'll also give you an indication of where it's produced (vin's beginning with "w" are built in Germany, while those beginning with "3" are built in Mexico)

Yep I have a vin already. It starts with a W so it's being built in Germany. On MyBMW I says it had been dispatched from factory. It would be at my dealer in October but he said he has been told by the performance center that Nov 24 is the earliest they can get me in. I'm probably just going to wait for the PCD bc I really wanted to do it.

Scheduling for PCD is a complete mystery. There is no guidance or transparency to the process at all. I ordered my X5 mid-July and I received a 10/21 pickup date on 9/23. It seems to be a program that has outgrown its capacity. They need to expand it or kill it. As it stands, it is starting to hurt the image of the brand by frustrating buyers.

I've done six EDs. The PCD experience was completely different but just as fun. If you guys can figure out how to get thru this BS, it'll really be worthwhile.

We did PCD in Feb. for my wife's X5. It was a great experience; so much so that I requested my new M340i be delivered there. My car is scheduled for production this week in Germany. This thread is making me wonder about the timing. My current lease is up on 12/10 and my CA assured me I'd have the new car in time.

Nope, I suspected my CA and reached out directly to the PCD people. They told me they absolutely wouldn’t give me a date until my car was done with production.

Never had that happen before. I've got every date for myself and my clients before the car even started production

My car is in the paint booth as of yesterday (10/7) and I also just got an email from the performance center setting my delivery date at 12/6. It occurs to me they'll have the car long before that.

After the PCD experience ended Friday afternoon, we drove to Savannah for the night and then drove the rest of the way on Saturday. It was a fun road trip at the end of the PCD adventure.
