Boy I wouldn't run a 0w30 or lighter oil in these cars unless it's sub-zero all year round.
I'm in Australia and BMW state 5w30. That's the lighest oil I'd use. The only reason BMW states a 0w20 or 0w30 oil in some countries is for emissions, but it ain't doing your engine any favors. I'm running MHD "Stage 2" and have a dp, and colder plugs. So nothing wild at all. I continue to run 5w30 LL01 oil which is factory spec for this car here. I have a 2020 M340iX. I read that these ones are more for the Gen 1 B58 and that ngk 96206 are the ones for the B58TU.
Did you know? Did you do any logs? I'm curious cause I done the same and maybe thinking switching for the right ones. They actually go deep 2 mm in the combustion chamber but does it make a difference.... Thx |

From my understanding they are the plugs for the TU.
Yes done logs, all good once I got the fuel and tune right. I am in Australia and fuel quality is bad. I gapped slightly wider at .026" than the 0.022 tuners say. But narrower than the factory 0.030" |

I removed a spark plug - the NGK 94201 I am currently using and compared side by side with the OEM/BMW/Champion ones I replaced.
The photo shows they are exactly the same. Same length etc. Only difference is the NGK has the electrode slightly more exposed, because thy are slightly colder plugs. |
