Have you had a problem closing the sunroof on your '19 330i?
The sunroof on our 330i has developed a chronic, recurring SNAFU. We took delivery in early April, and as a result, the sunroof was not used that much early on. As we started to use it more, we ran into a problem with attempting to close it from the fully open position.
I would press the button once to close it, the glass would move forward, then at the close position it reverses and opens again. Second, third, and fourth attempts all yielded the same result. By holding the button forward and then releasing when closed you could get it closed, but that often left it partially closed, with the glass not quite flush with the roof sheet metal. At this point, I have done the "initializing" procedure about twenty times. It stays OK for a day or so, then I have to do it again. On the previous three BMW 3 series cars we never had an issue with this, so never had to re-initialize the closing program. I suspect that adding the auto opening sun shade to the sequence has contributed to this problem. Has anybody else had this glitch with their G20? If so, was the dealer able to permanently fix it? I've had this problem with my previous car (different brand and model). It's due to the safety function thinking there's an obstruction and makes the roof reopen.
I took it back to the dealer and they cleaned the rail and lubricated the mechanism and it was fixed. |
