330i loaner review from an F30 335i owner

I took my 2015 335 msport with 19 in runflat to service and the adviser gave me a g20 330i base loaner. I was very exited to drive this car. So here some of my opinion of the new car.

It's a base model, non sport suspension. 225/45/18 non-runflat pirelli tires and it comes with a donut.

STEERING.
Compare to my f30, at low speed, with comfort or sport , the steering resistance feels the same. It's very soft. Softer than the f30. On the f30 you can feel the resistance change btw comfort and sport.
Once the car get on speed, resistance increase noticeably. My f30 has slightly better road feel(maybe because of 19in wheels and sport suspension ). But overall very similar.

DRIVING DYNAMICS .
the g20 feels noticeably sharper and precise. Although it's a bigger car, the chassis feels lighter and smaller, more nimble. I would say it feels like driving a e90 and f30 blended in. When going through corners and lane changes, the new car gives you more confidence. Bodyroll maybe 15% less( comparing base g20 vs msport f30). The ride feels firm but not harsh, noticeably less floaty. My f30 was floaty and harsh.

ENGINE AND TRANS
it's b48 and the updated zf8
Rated at 255hp/ 295tq. Driving normally, the power feels almost like 335. The transmission shifts a little faster in normal mode. In sport mode, shifts still fast, but at lower rpm.

Interior design and the new Idrive is way better than the f30. But I dislike the e-handbrake. Seat is more comfortable too.

Overall. The new car steering is slightly more numb. The car handles better even without sport package. The car feels smaller even though is a bigger car. Gives you more confident. I think it's an upgrade of the f30. Can't imagine how good it would be if it's a m340 or 330 msport.

Thanks for your review, next time try the M Sport 330i, the other trims isn't for the enthusiast.

You can't forget that new cars will have new dampers and bushing so will seem like they have much better handling. Though I don't doubt your review. The F30 M Sport suspension was pretty much garbage.
