BMW Connected and Connected App
How can an amazing car be let down so much by a complete gash of an app?............
I input all my details on the Connected website including my car VIN and confirmation code, I follow all the onscreen instructions to register and all seems okay until I open the app on my phone to see my car is no longer connected and I have to input my VIN number on my phone app for it to see my car again, I wait for all the services to become active to low and behold, my car has now disappeared from the Connected website..........? My name and details are all still there but I cant access my car details, send destinations from the phone app to my car, it’s just a very frustrating cycle............. I’ve tried different ways of registering on the phone app and on the Connected site but it just doesn’t want me to have both connected. To conclude, I just have the car registered on my phone app now and any destinations I have to input in to the car when I get in, not the end of the world but it is pretty naff considering my Ł200 Tom Tom complete with phone app would send my destinations no problem. I’ll stop crying now and get my tissues but a car of this brand and value, you’s expect them to get this bit right. Rant over, until I find something else to gripe about. Happy driving |

Have you created a driver profile in the car? I didn't get anything from the app destinations wise until I had done that. Didn't work with the guest profile. Apologies if you have already done it.

Are you registering it on 2 different accounts? That’s what it sounds like if so just use one you can log into the app and website off 1 connected drive account

Thanks for the responses, I’ve managed to get both connected now.
Not too sure what I did different but they’re both connected. Still no, navigation journeys going from the phone so to the car and noticed that the weather and the connected app on the car won’t open, they say “ Loading App” but nothing happens......... maybe it’s just me and tech? |

My connected app does that as well.
When it does open, all I get is a suggested journey/address - nothing else whatsoever, I’m sure on my previous 220 it did a lot more than this - can anyone confirm if this is all the connected app (in the car via idrive) does? Seem to remember in previous car if you had the app open on your phone and plugged in via usb to the car, the connected app did more, but it just doesn’t do anything either way for me... Must admit I haven’t even tried the weather app in a month since I got the car, maybe I should! |

Sadly Connected Drive has been a bit w**k for as long as it’s been available.
The only thing I could get to work was the “Send to car “ Sat Nav destinations. If you want to know what others think take a look at the reviews on the Apple App Store...Shocking!! |
