Two issues: sunroof failure and lights stay on long after vehicle has been shut off
From delivery date we have had problems with the operation of the sunroof. Once a week I would have to initialize the program for the opening of the shade and the glass, tilt open etc. It would then be OK for a day or two, and then it would be near impossible to close from the open position.
Just as it was about to close, it would reverse itself and start to open. Then you'd try it again and again, until finally trying the re-initializing procedure. The other day it would not open at all, except for the tilt to open, and then shut from there. The shade would not move, and when you pressed the button, it made a buzzing noise. Then I attempted to initialize and after the usual 15 seconds instead of going through the whole sequence of opening and closing, it buzzed ominously. We are going back for our second visit to the dealer for this problem. This time I'm taking a loaner and not picking it up until they solve the issue. Would this be a body control module problem or does the sunroof have its own computer? Also the auto on headlights come on when you drive into the garage, you shut the car off, and then head, tail, running and side marker lights stay on for hours. I timed it once and they stayed on after 2 hours. I only tried this as the LED's use so much less power, and wanted to see if it corrected itself. The only thing it did do is turn off the low beams, but the smaller head/running lights were still on at 2 hours out. Also a body control module glitch? Are either or both of these problems a possible bad body control module, or perhaps bad software?? Best always, Bluemill |

I have a similar issue. My fabric cover won't close and it rattles. I have a rolled up sock wedged between my permanently open fabric cover and the glass to stop the rattle until I can get to the dealer.

I would LOVE to be able to disable the AUTO headlights. They are just stupid and designed for those who love driving around with no headlights at night (just come to Seattle) I absolutely hate this and never used in any of my BMWs.
It wont let you dim or turn off the lights while driving if they are on and the car has full control over the headlights. I would really appreciate any info on if anyone figured out a way to disable / turn off the auto headlights feature and have the car remember the last setting. Today, I just push the headlight off button the sec I get in the car but I know that's going to get old real fast. OP, I recommend manually turning off the lights or the car via volume button. Also make sure that your pathway lightning is either off or set to 10 secs or so.

Personally I don't see a reason to disable. I loved auto lights since day 1 of my first vehicle ever owned.

sun/moon roof fixed!
After the second service visit the dealer nailed it down. I think they needed to order the defective switch- not in stock the first time. Now it works fine, the whole litany of moves, press it twice it will open shade and glass, etc.
The auto headlight issue seems fine now too. Part of it I think is that you need to keep the auto switch on all the time. Secondly, your driver 1,2, and guest Profiles all should be set to the same Pathway setting- which I set all at 20 seconds. Another factor is to have both you and driver 2 hit the unlock button on your key prior to getting in- then it goes to your key settings - which are extensive! After researching that and following through, my wife and I are having good luck with all functions. It's sort of like getting use to Windows 10- it takes a while! Best always, Bluemill |

It was reprogrammed twice then finally the dealer said it was " a problem with the rubber seal causing the anti trap mechanism to activate"...hmm. This was still happening despite a software update to 2019.07.47 I dunno. It all works now |
