I received my car yesterday. Had Spotify under the media menu. Logged on and used it. Today it's gone. Not in the menu anymore. I can use Spotify viay phone but then it's merely Bluetooth audio streaming. Seems like as soon as I logged onto the car it received an update to remove Spotify and erase every trace if it ever existing..

I lost this as soon as I logged on and/or connected a phone. Gone.
Today I removed all my phones. Then I noticed I didn't only miss Spotify, the whole "connected music" item was missing (although the menu settings did show (and do show) "connected music" and "Spotify" the whole time). Connected music has been restore but spfofudy hasn't reappeared. Contacten support who told me to update my apps. I did but nothing changed.

Had been using it fine for a week since collecting my car. Bloody annoying, as I use Spotify all the time and to finally have it integrated after faffing with Bluetooth for the past 4 years was a real bonus. Come on BMW, get this sorted. |

Ah that's good news. So it disappeared in all our cars around the same date. Makes it sound less random and more fixable.
I called bmw support and they told me they would be rolling out Spotify in a couple of weeks from now..

I'm baffled. Today my partner drove, used second key. Guess what. Spotify was there! The menu was exactly the same as it was with me initially.
Haven't tried using it/logging in, hoping I can go to the dealer and show the difference. But I feel some frustration 🙁. My gut feeling says it has something to do with connecting the phones and the car prefering phone Spotify over car Spotify (maybe to save data or something).

That is weird...... I’ll try my other key and see if it’s there for both.

Tried my other key this morning and can confirm I have Spotify working on both keys.
As stated before I am using the in built sim but have logged in under my own Spotify account.. Works with no phone in the car.

Yes this is how I expect it to work. Do you have a phone configured or connected at the time you can use Spotify? And is it an iPhone or Android?

Yes, I have had my phone linked in the car at the same time. Not recently thou as my phone is away for repair and Apple appear to have mislaid it (long story).
I have an IPhone X

According to my dealer, it’s a iDrive software issue. My car is running .50 with no Spotify app installed. We checked with a G21 in the showroom, running .40, and is still has the app.
Although Connected Music makes a mention of Napster and Deezer only, it is still required for Spotify. |

Purchased Connected Music via my idrive and sorry I have to disagree. When I paid my £60 a few weeks ago it did include Spotify

I feel like im getting mental. Called bmw today to see if they had any Information. Guy told me the issue was fixed last night and I should update my apps (press option, choose update app and service). After that, Spotify was back again!! I was so happy. Couldn't log in because of speed lock. 15 min later I parked at home, went to log in and what do you think... Spotify is gone again 🤯.
I'm on the phone with bmw again as we speak..

Hi,
Well, I took my car in for a recall (on the back up camera) and software was updated to 07/2019.70. Interestingly, I do not have Spotify either as an App or listed under Media. This may be something pecular to US?? I do, however, have Spotify & Pandora on my Samsung S8 (Android). Because I have my phone Bluetoothed to car, I can get either service; all I have to do is open either one's App on my phone and then select my phone under Media on the iDrive. Having said that, however, I must say that Pandora tends to drop out aft a few minutes and then come back (may be because I only have free subscription) Hope that helps!

Hi,
Uk here and one of the guys posted that if you have connected music, then you need to be signed out of the BMW or other services for Spotify to appear. I have connected music on a trial for 3 months in my new car, and I'd tried the BMW music service first, consequently couldn't find Spotify. As soon as I logged out, of BMW music Spotify reappeared. I think you can only run one connected service at a time.

After my last call with with BMW they told me how to sign out from Connected Music. When accepting the trial, it set you up with Napster (in my case). Apparently you can only have one provider active at the same time. Thus: having Napser means no more Spotify. The moment I signed out from Napster/Connected Music, Spotify re-appeared and kept working till date.
