Disabling Active sound on a lease car - safe to do?
Hi all,
thinking about disabling the Active sound on a M340i. Probably via BimmerCode app. The car will be on a lease. Therefore, the owner is someone else (a bank). Do you reckon it is safe to do so? I am thinking whether there is some kind of built-in alert mechanism in SW of the car to let BMW/owner know I have been messing with the SW? Because I am pretty sure any sort of mods on a lease car are banned. |

Just turn it back on before you turn it in, no big deal

I coded my 2017 F30 340i to do things like close/open the side mirrors on lock/unlock and a few other things. I returned my car with all of the coding still programmed and received a clean bill of health from BMW, no fees required on the return of my lease!
Right now though afaik, you cannot disable Active Sound using Bimmercode on the G20 models. |

I can't find any mention of it in the "Owner's Manual".
