Thumbs down

I am a long-time 3 series driver (E36, E46, E90, F30) considering the G20.

No matter which G20 I drive, the vent in the center of the top of the dashboard (*not* the windshield defrost vents) continuously emits some amount of cold air against the windshield - no matter if all air is directed elsewhere.

I live in Florida where the weather tends to be more humid. This causes condensation on the outside of the windshield which tends to grow and grow, requiring the windshield wipers to be run to remove it - constantly.

Attached are photos of the one I drove last night. 2020 G20 330i assembly Munich.

Has anyone else experienced this? It truly appears to be a design flaw.

I live in Florida too and have not noticed this. I normally run the air between 72-74.

Would you mind checking out if setting it to Lo or in the low 60's causes this?

I am in South Florida and had that issue for about a week after getting my car back from the dealer. Before that it never happened and now it has not reoccurred since.

That sounds strange... that it would occur after never happening before and then go away?

Can't explain how but it did lol. I even message my buddy here who has a G20 so see if he had experienced it.when it was happening. Since I was overly concerned.

I'll test this out tomorrow on the way to the gym and report back.

**Update**

As you know it is cooler out today, but I ran the a/c on max for the trip to the gym and did not see any condensation on any window. I did the same on the way home and I put my hand over the defrost vents and did not feel any air, but did feel air on my wrist coming from the speaker grille.

I have not had any problems with fog yet other than tinting my windshield it was hazy for a day or two but never fog at the bottom.

Have not driven in high humidity and my guess is that is it. I vaped in my 435i and that did not help

This is something BMW can address through a software upgrade (iStep). Changes to the vent distribution box parameters to redirect air accordingly. Or you can adjust the vent box manually from the user controls.

I wouldn't consider it a big deal to focus on if you want a G20. There's more annoying issues, like iDrive7 and Live Cockpit Pro gauges. Lol
