Yeah the sound this has bugged me the whole video trying to guess what it is ! I thought this is not the usual 4 cylinder sound neither 6 B58 N55 S65... and I agree it sounds more like a 5 cylinder but that's unlikely to happen (let alone the v10 of the R8).

My guess is that it's not a 330i on the video...

edit: Now i've watched the other video "The all-new BMW 3 Series. All you need to know" and the M performance car this time really sounded like a regular 4 pot this time... So did they just add a v10 sound on top of the dedicated M perfomance part video ?! Shame on you BMW...

Maybe instead of designing all the bs Bmw performance cosmetic parts for this model they instead should have found a way to not discontinue the manual trans. The wheels are cool though.

She is very attractive

Thank Christ, BMW finally adopted split leather/alcantara steering wheel. Entire thing doesn't "look" awful. It's just too Audi/Lexus-like...

Here's hoping it sounds & drives well.

the way the spoiler doesn't really line up cleanly with any of the lines bothers me.

It doesn't matter how big you make the calipers if they still only have 4 pistons. That looks ridiculous and there is no need for it. Plus the back end is 100% lexus and looks terrible. And this new kidney grille treatment that BMW is doing is all wrong.

Not a huge fan but it's not that bad. It just looks like a smaller 5 series, and it'll probably grow on me in due time. I can think of BMWs that had the same first impression, if not worse.. and all those were from the bangle era

BMW E60 - this car was atrocious as hell when it came out, then they released the LCI / Sport and well yea one is in my garage
BMW E90 Sedan - This thing was ugly to me as well when it first came out but where is my E90 M3 that I so badly want now..

Why does BMW always insist on offering extremely weak offsets and wheel widths for the M Performance lines?! These wheels have sooo much potential. Just look at the ones on the 2002. Come on BMW! 225 up front?! And that's your M "Performance" upgrade? So damn disappointing. And don't get me started on the none functional CF Rear diffusers that cost an arm and a leg for what they are. They should rename their performance upgrade to M Aesthetics Parts.

Sorry for the rant but at what point do they plan on charging people for actual performance upgrades and not just for some carbon fiber makeup kits?

Wheels are great. front lip is nice but id like to see what the aftermarket does. rear spoiler i was hoping for an m4 style from the f8x. looks like IND will make a killing on reflector deletes again. THose rear reflectors are designed in such a horrible spot.

They are quite aggressive so I doubt they'd come on a 5 or 7 but they might become optional on the M5 or even X3?
Just have to wait and see. As I've said in our private discussions over the past 2 years, I'll say the same publicly; BMW was and continues to be unusually protective of that particular wheel design. It's also still as much of a design/engineering PITA as has been as well.

What would you do without M Performance tire covers?
You store winter and summer wheel and tire sets in the off season...

The wheels are either forged or flow form...what is it? Guessing the latter. Which essentially means a cast wheel spun and shaped to final specs.
Let's stop and actually think about this for a second without letting aftermarket wheel marketing cloud your understanding...

Flow forming pertains to how the barrel made. Forged has to do with the face. Forged wheels have flow formed barrels.

There is no saving this design in a M3/4 variant. Congrats BMW. My next M car will be a Porsche.
