Advice on interior cleaning/detailing and product recommendations.
I’m looking for some general advice on how to best keep the interior clean of my M340i. It’s about a month old and it could use its first interior clean.
I’ve never cleaned the inside of my own car before, I’ve always taken my car to car washes that will vacuum and wipe down the interior for you. I have a ceramic coating on my car so my plan is to take it to touchless car washes, which typically don’t have interior cleaning services. Does anybody have any recommended tips or specific products that are worth stocking up so I can do this at home? I have a red Sensatec interior and all weather mats. Thanks! There's an entire forum on detailing here: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=954
I have Canberra Beige Sensatec. I used 303 Automotive as a protectant when it was brand new (and will re-up periodically). I use Gyeon LeatherSet Mild for my steering wheel. I use CarPro InnerQD for maintenance cleaning. Get some good microfiber rags from The Rag Company. |

Yep, unless the car is really dirty, a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with water suffices. (I also use this with my Merino leather.)

I bought some microfiber clothes, one last silly question, am I just post to use the damp cloth to wipe down the whole interior of the car except for the windows?

You have spent the money to put a ceramic coat on your car, do yourself a favor and either do a two bucket system hand wash....or a foam cannon with a pressure washer. Use a nice micro fiber mitt. On the interior - P&S makes an incredible interior cleaner -Xpress Interior Cleaner- safe for all surfaces. It also smells really good. I use detail brushes by "The Detail Factory". I have both their boars hair and super soft. They work amazing on the seats and door/dash details. Then I use a 500gsm micro fiber (The Rag Company - Eagle Edgeless) to wipe up after using the brushes. |

It’s funny, I went to the chemical guys store last night and ended up buying about $100 in supplies. I’m not thrilled about it but I’m going to try to embrace the experience of washing my own car lol. It’s currently 40 in Michigan should be fun.
