330e First Week Impressions

Now that I have driven my new car for over a week here are a few of my first impressions.

1) Wow, I love it. I was scared having never driven the 330e, wasnt sure what the experience would be, happy to say its better than I was expecting in each category of power, handling, and comfort

2) Check out my Fuel stats in the pics, crazyness. 75.1 MPG average lol. I knew by our driving needs that we could be on the Electric motor for most of the time and its still giving me better than expected MPG. Still waiting on my first electric bill to see the change, will update once I figure out that cost. Had a new car for over a week and haven't been to the gas station, I can get used to that

3) Tech idrive8- my wife and I share both of our vehicles, whatever car suits the task best we take. idrive8 is the best system we have used so far to manage 2 drivers constantly getting in and out. Almost all system we have used have issues with apple carplay and multiple accounts, but idrive8 is super easy and intuitive. I also really like the HUD and the digital cluster looks great.

4) The driving experience. Its got so much power and life in sport, but is incredibly smooth and balanced in hybrid and electric, it really offers the best of both worlds. The handling does not give away the weight of the vehicle, it feels extremely nimble and easy to maneuver.

5) The sound! I love the electric sound its cool, but when you drop it in Sport mode with xtraboost it completely changes moods into a street beast.

Overall, happier on day 11 than I was on day 1, love this car.

How do you like the trunk space with battery in there? Does it feel like it is a bit small? Or no worries?

What about the ride height? I see on pics the car sits pretty high, suv like. Big wheel gap. Is that because the car is brand new and hasnt settled, or has deliver blocks or just how it is?

These two bits are what bothers me most about 330e. Otherwise I believe it is a fantastic daily (not the M3CS like someone said in another thread, smh).

So trunk space is fine for us, we have an SUV which we use for anything needing a trunk. I did do a costco run with it and packed the trunk full. Ride height, I am cool with it seems pretty low especially compared to my suv. I wouldnt want it lower for practical reasons, but a lowered car always looks better.

Hehe, I wondered more if a triathlon bike with front wheel off will fit... granted, thats a rather specific concern most dont share.

Hey Dj, jw how often you fill up with electricity, and how long it takes to fill up from where you are? Do you have battery anxiety? Appreciate your answers & nice whip!

I plug it in every night in my garage. It takes I think 6-8 hours on my level 1 wall charger, with our schedule that’s totally fine, it sits at night. I could get a level 2 installed and that cuts charge time in half, but I honestly don’t need the speed. I usually drive in hybrid mode unless I get a good road with no traffic, then I’m in sport and having fun, but I am still averaging 78mpg. Thx!

I didn't realize the 330e got the electronic trunk closing feature. On my M340i it was not an option, seems like they are brining it back to the MY24.

Congrats!

My wife and I are really impressed with the 330e too! I switch between that and my i4 for my commute and iDrive8 does handle the two profiles well.
