I wanted to have a good overview of fuel economy, so I prepared a summary of all reports I found on this forum. You'll find there original economy as reported by a user + mpg + l/100km versions. Maybe it helps someone

On my 330i xDrive I made a 400 mi trip and ended up just shy of 40mpg. This was using EcoPro setting and on cruise at 75-82 for 95% of the trip. The next morning after arriving at my destination I checked my tire pressure (for the first time since taking delivery and was at 39front/43 rear. Label in car says 32/38. So I knocked it down to a more reasonable 35/39, and got around 38MPG for the return.

That's impressive! With my E90 I only get such mileage when cruising 100 kmg and doing minor city driving.

Today's round trip commute. 100 miles in eco pro mode. Speedo set to 85mph. Some stop and go. Used active cruise almost the entire trip. 28.7 mpg. Not too shabby.

Funny thing about ECO Mode in my F30 is that if I go over 80mph it tells me I'm not saving any miles. Below 80mph it does add miles back. Weird.

I commute in m340 from Thousand Oaks to downtown daily (49 miles) each way. I’ve had my car 7 weeks with 3500 miles on it I’ve averaged 32-35 mpg driving comfort and or Eco mode.

So on my M340i although the display does read 28 mpg...I seriously don't think that is accurate. I am only getting 20 mpg. I start calculating number of miles driven till my next fill and do the math. Nowhere close to what is showing on the display.

I want to share my fuel consumption experience so far with my 330i M-Sport on 18 inch RFT Goodyear tires. At the moment my range is 519km and I have still 57% of fuel to go. This means in theory that I can drive 911km on one tank. Car is mentioning 7.3 l/100km which would give me a total range of 808 km. Current distance is 361 + 519 gives me 880km one one tank. On average it would give me a nice 866km one one tank of 59 liters. Oh yes, this is a mix of a bit of Sport, default comfort and motorway in eco pro. Up until now satisfied with those results.

Averaging 21mpg on my M340i... My commute to work is very short, not even sure the engine gets warmed up to operating temperature before I arrive, so I can't really get good milage. On the weekends when I take it out for trips, I can average ~32mpg with 70mph driver assist pro engaged. In stop-and-go traffice, mpg drops down to low-20mpg's on the freeway.

Only done about 300 miles so not yet in a position to give a full to empty check, but the computer is saying 39.8 mpg *. Doesn't seem keen to do the full 40. Motoring so far has been purely suburban in comfort drive. Have tried the Eco pro a few times but the free wheeling makes me queazy.
(* That would be 33mpg to those beyond the pond and 7.01 L/100km to those east of the ditch) Last edited by Bumble; 08-31-2019 at 07:38 AM.. |
