Fugly? Lol this is easily the best looking 3 series inside and out ever made, and also it deff isn't easy making 500 @ the crank in a n55
Inside is nice but there should be a vote which body looks better the f bod vs g bod and I'll bet the f gets way more votes.
agree ... e and f (with fixed hood lines) vs g20 any day

they should have combined e9x "evolution" design with new chassis and proper cluster ... that would have been a killer car

Funny how many in these forums back in the day hated the design language of the E90 calling it contrived and "Japanese". (And yes the E90 was designed by a Japanese).

Oil Change

Historically I have changed the oil in my BMWs every 3k miles - old school. I picked up my new 2020 M340xi in September and have only 5k miles on it. Would there be any advantage to changing the oil now at 6 months?
Thanks

Peace of mind? I usually just follow the manual, but as the car gets older (and BMW's like to leak oil when they get old), depending on the car I usually do either 5k or 7.5k increments. On my son's 05 X3 (which is leaking a small amount of oil, of course ) we do an oil change every 7.5k miles.

I always wait 10k miles to do it...but then again i have always leased and just follow the included maintenance schedule.

Waste of money and resources changing synthetic oil that soon.

IMHO, change your oil and execute an oil analysis(e.g. blackstone labs). Then you can decide in the future when to change your oil. The oil being used in the M340i is 0W-20. I used 5W-30 Redline oil (class V oil)in my N54 and did not operate beyond 9K miles before changing. Much different from my Wife's NA Volvo, where I could get 15K miles easily. The turbos break down the oil from the heat stresses. When I receive my M340(hopefully in a couple weeks), I will be changing mine no more than 5K miles to validate how the engine is wearing. I keep my vehicles for a long time (I've owned my 335i for 13.5 years 160k miles).

Cheers!

That's nothing I'm pushing 440k on my TDI Golf.

Which is awesome! I appreciate the outcome of good maintenance plans and great engineering. 🍻
