Lowering G21 M340i - advice please

Want to lower my M340i (xDrive touring with adaptive suspension) to get rid of that wheel arch gap!

Never had a car lowered before, I meant to do it with my previous F30 335 but never got round to it.

What are the best springs to go for that work with the adaptive suspension? I’ve seen quite a few options from AC, Eibach etc.

Also what about spacers? Do I need them? I’ve looked through lots of photos and lowering just a bit without spacers looks ok or should I definitely be getting some too?

Not looking to spend tons just want it a bit lower - also for those of you who’ve done this how much did fitting plus toe/camber adjustment cost?

Thanks!

I went with ACS lowering springs as I wanted to retain as much ride quality as possible, the ACS drop is not as much as other brands such as Eibach and H&R hence this choice. In terms of spacers I went with the BMS recommendation of 10mm front/12mm rear, it definitely looks a lot better than stock. Fitting of the springs was 540Aud including wheel alignment but this might be irrelevant since you're in the UK.

I also have acs springs on my g20, went for these because it doesn't affect your warranty. Sandals bmw Wakefield did the job for £700 including full alignment

Cool, how do you find the ACS springs? Unfortunately here in Aus BMW don't recognise ACS parts therefore the warranty will not apply to any suspension related issues should I have any.

Feels firm probably due to fitting 20''alloys

I've gone for ACS springs, will be getting them fitted this coming Tuesday along with 12mm/12mm spacers.

Wanted to reduce the wheel arch gap too, but didn't want it slammed.

Thanks - think I might go for ACS too then. I don’t want it too low either. How much did was it for the springs/spacers? Whereabouts did you get them?

And rough cost for fitting?

Thanks

Mallory Performance are supplying and fitting the springs for £570. I decided afterwards to get some spacers from AC Schnitzer direct from their website as they include the longer bolts and locking wheel nut, I think they were around £250.

Had my springs and spacers fitted today, they probably need a bit of time to settle even more but overall I'm happy with the look they give, still a bit of a gap there but not as bad a before.

This is my car after fitting the ACS springs. Exactly 0.75" drop front and rear compared to stock.

Thanks for the pics. From what I’m reading ACS are warranty friendly. What about the spacers and is there a particular brand to use. I was going to go down the full eibach route but I don’t want any warranty issues down the line.

You should get a certificate with the springs for your warranty

How's the ride with the lowering springs and the 20" wheels?
To be honest I haven't found any difference on this set up, the lowering springs made no difference to the ride quality. Bought the car with the 20'' already on.
