valve caps

Hi All,

OK so on my 320i tyres the valve caps are like thin silver caps, not like the normal black rubber ones. They are all on really tight. Just wondering do they just unscrew like normal? never seen this type of valve cap before. Only asking as need to add some air to 2 or my tyres.

Cheers guys!

They’re TPMS valves. Add a tiny bit of Cu grease on the thread before putting the dust cap back on to stop metal-to-metal corrosion.

Great thanks for the advice guys! I'll just be a bit more forceful, oh and will get some grease.

My M340i has tyre pressure sensors but was just delivered with grey plastic screw-on caps…

Metal valve caps are a pain in the arse - ditch them and get plastic ones.

I do that when I get a new car.
It also stops the kids nicking the valve caps for their bikes.
