Safety Camera in ID7
Got a bit of a shock this morning, I go into Connecteddrive website to see that Safety Camera locations (£20 per annum) can be subscribed to.
The details say fixed cameras and Traffic Light cameras will display in HUD. So I have paid but no download or service update yet. |

Only for fixed cameras, which is a shame. Waze gives you mobile cameras too.
But I guess for that, like Waze, you need a way for drivers to report mobile camera vans in use. (And of course I bought it anyway!) |

Are the Germans softening up and will activate remote start for ICE vehicles next.
As I understand it, speed camera devices are illegal over there which is why they have not been an option on BMW's in the past. For £20 worth a go |

I didn’t know that Jaguar offered that in U.K. I assumed that as it’s illegal to have a car running, unattended, in a public place manufacturers avoided it in the U.K. because punters would claim ignorance and “why would the manufacturer give me something illegal to use?”
Did the Jag have a big disclaimer text saying you could only use on private land? Really useful function though which I used a lot in the U.S. BTT, I’ve ordered the speed camera display and I wonder if you have to enable it in some setting somewhere or if it just pops up whenever there is a camera. |

I always used a stand alone TomTom for satnav and speed cameras in the past. Mine are getting a bit old so I have been trying Waze and I bought the TomTom Go app. They are good but I have occasional Carplay issues so I am nervous to commit. The new Speed cameras for the BMW system may be perfect. Hopefully someone gets them working soon and can report back

I subscribed last night and it's available in the car now. Managed to get a photo of the HUD as was stuck in traffic approaching a fixed camera:

I don' think so as a few other G20's on here seem to have it so I'll hazard a guess it's software related, I'm can't remember off the top of my head what I'm on but last update successfully installed was in July last year and for the life of me I can't get it to move past that and as I don't need the car for work the other half stubbornly refuses to take it in to the dealer to have it updated by them
