These show the values since the start of journey. 0.0 l/100km = Instant data (zero because the car is stationary) 0.9 l/100km = Average fuel consumption for the journey (preceded by the symbol for "average") 31.6 mph = Average speed for the journey 28.7 mi = Distance for the journey for which electricity was used 59:55 = Journey time 30.8 mi = Total distance travelled on journey Has anybody verified how accurate the on-board computer is? I have an X5 30d (G05), and it's actually pretty inaccurate. I have a regular journey which I know is 320km, and at the end the computer says I've travelled 314km. What is even more bizarre is the stopwatch being so inaccurate. It's always wrong by several minutes. A 1 hour 30 minute journey was out by two minutes, and a 2 hour 52 minute was out by nearly four minutes. Quite poor really. |

Yeah but with no place to charge at work i will be all petrol on the way home.
If it averages around 40mpg then that'll average out around 170-180mpg across my total commute per day - which obviously is not to be sniffed at |

Return journey and overall commute below after full journey.
Works out about 41.5mpg on way home and 71/72mpg overall (I think). Which with no chance to charge during day is about 10mpg better than my C Class would’ve returned overall. (60 ish) |

Thanks for that info, mine turns up in a month or so and your commute distance is the same although mine is mostly motorway. Only thing missing from the calcs I guess is to factor in the electric cost into the mpg.... Anyhow makes me feel like I made the right choice so ta again.

Mine is mostly motorway too with the exception of around 5 miles. It was just rush hour gridlock this morning! I’m sure you’ll be used to that in Manchester! Charging overnight at my house currently costs about £1.15 on my current tariff if that helps - so just over £8 a week assuming every night charge. |

I pick up my car on Wednesday but I got the app up and running. The app shows an electric range of 23 kms at 65% charge. The connected drive website shows 23 miles. Which one is correct?

I’m thinking about changing it up.
Can park at Robroyston P&R and charge for free everyday - it’s about 6 miles from town and £2.70 return on the train and my office is right next to station. That will be cheaper and allow me to charge both ways. Could be a winner! |

49,5 km at 18,5 KWh/100 means ca. 9,15 out of 12 KWh of battery were available for driving which would make sense if you take into account AC and the fact not all of the battery is allowed be used (draining them to low SoC is really bad).
Mine does 20,1 KWh per 100 and I typically would get 41 km of all electric range on a 10 degC day. Terrain is slightly hilly here though. It would be really interesting to compare what others are getting. I would also be very interesting to learn if detailed battery stats can be read through the ODB port like you can on Tesla's: I'm very curious to learn how the battery might degrade over time and how much of the battery is used as top and bottom buffering. |

I’d say Eco Pro is probably still the best for journeys that are longer than the total range and electric for any journeys that are under or close to it. |

I genuinely think it just makes it up though. Showed a 33 mile range on the app and dashboard this morning, Barely got 24 today in reality though.

Route dependant I would ya electric for 30-50 mph driving with little to no braking, that's where you loose a lot of leccy speeding up again and slowing down and speeding up again. Really depends on your route

How many of us driving ICE, immediately notice our range is down, due to a wet or colder day, (unless we reset the mpg every trip), or if the wind is against us on our daily journey? Going to show up immediately, with a limited ~30 mile EV range. We can't hide an added energy demand, like a 10mph head wind, or needing more cabin heat. |

You say that - but here’s this mornings effort. Starting electric range - 33 miles. Driving mode - electric Total journey distance: 3.4miles - nursery run, pretty much constant 20-30mph Outside temperature: 8c Driving and comfort aids: all off incl. Bluetooth, iDrive screen, radio, lights, A/C and fan speed. Range upon return: 15 miles Tell me that’s not fundamentally flawed? Even with range variations on ICE displays - it would drop by a % like that. |

Okay - so for this particular journey (my commute there and back with no chance to charge at work) i think this is the best I've had combined so far.
What was different today was that I used electric specifically for all sections of road that weren't a 60 or 70mph limit. So town, city, 40's and 50's. And as soon as I went onto the dual carriageway / motorways - I plopped it into Cruise Control at 72mph and away we went. Gave me a return of 81mpg roughly across the full day. If i can maintain that consistently then that'll be a good 20mpg better than the Merc C220d over that same run. |

Will have to do a bit of research, energy is going somewhere. Wonder what power you actually used, and what charge you need (kWh) to get back to 100%. If you used about 5 kWh, would explain it. |

Either way - it’s nuts losing that range over such a short journey driving sedately. |
