Alarm system on G20/G21

Hello
Anyone who are having periodic issues with the alarm system when locking the car?

The alarm system on my G21 is not always enabling when locking the car with the key. Sometimes it helps opening and closing the doors a few times - but it really is rather by luck if the alarm system engages.

Anyone else?

Having similar experience. I've enabled the 'beeps' for locking / unlocking the car and notice directly if this happens (3 beeps instead of 1). Completely random...

Exactly the same experience. Took it to the dealer twice without luck. They are useless.

Does the M340i alarm have a red "clown nose" that flashes indicating that the alarm is activated like the F30 does? Thanks.

Hi I seem to be having the same problem om my G21. It takes a couple of time for the alarm to even beep and often it beeps 3 times.
Were you able to resolve this problem?

Thanks!

The user manual implies that the alarm is only activated with the remote control or comfort access, it does not say anything about the key in the lock ...

My G22 user's manual clarifies (probably the same on your car):
* The alarm is triggered if door is unlocked with the physical key.
(Start the car by holding remote key against the NFC sensor on the steering column.)
* The alarm is not activated if locked with the physical key.

In this case it refers (at least to my understanding) that if it is opened with the key, it is activated, it means that it will begin to sound.

And in this one, that if it is closed with the key, the alarm does not "activate" that is, it is not functional ...

In short, the key cannot turn the alarm "ON" or "OFF".

If I'm wrong someone correct me.

Correct, except that the NFC reader (and remote without functioning battery) can turn off the alarm and start the car
When locking I think that the scenario that require locking the doors manually, with the physical key, is probably due to electrical failure in which case the alarm would not function anyway.

Did anyone notice if their Alarm Volume in the M340 is Much Lower that in the F30's? My 2017 340 F30 was real loud but my 2020 M340 is very low and muffled, hardy hear it from the outside of car... Can anyone speculate if this normal or is something wrong with my alarm? Thank you

In my case it has a normal volume, it is heard perfectly and with a level similar to previous cars (e36, e90, F30 ...)

Has anyone installed a secondary alarm system or theft deterrent in their G20's that won't interfere with the standard alarm system?

Yes, "IGLA 231" or "IGLA Alarm", depending on your needs.
