Quick Questions re: Live Cockpit

Hi there,

Is there any way to display the total miles traveled on the Live Cockpit screen WITHOUT taking up the right hand customization gauge? (In other words, I know that pressing the BC button will cycle through screens, one of which has the total miles traveled, but then I can't see my entertainment source in that spot!).

Specifically, I would love to replace the "miles remaining" indicator in the bottom left with the total miles traveled.

Thanks!

I would’ve loved that too. One of my only grouse with the live cockpit. But unfortunately, I remember reading somewhere that you cannot code the miles remaining (with regards to how much fuel there is in the tank) to show the distance travelled.
Hopefully bmw comes with an update enabling us to do that.

Unfortunately the live cockpit isn't very customizable as compared to Audi or even Mercedes.

True. I would’ve liked for the ability to make the gauges smaller and navigation bigger (a la Audi).

I think BMW really dropped the ball here. It shouldn't be that hard to make it customizable. For example, many of us would prefer traditional round gauges moving in the traditional direction. It wouldn't be that hard to make that an option.

I half agree but also, what then is the draw to the digi cluster?

The virtual cockpit on my Skoda Kodiaq is much more customisable than this with ability to make gauges tiny and have sat nav across full screen etc.

It’s not as clear as the BMW one, but more versatile certainly.

Skoda has a better VC than even Audi (more layouts). Jaguar has a similar good VC too. Like someone else mentioned, even Benz has upped their game. It’s time BMW caught up.

My A4 had the same option. You could make the meters small and have navigation take up almost the entire area, which was very useful for me, especially when I used navigation in a new, unfamiliar area. When you didn’t need nav, you could go back to the full sized meters, if you wanted to.

Bummer. Something about seeing my range tick down raises my blood pressure. Again, I know I can eliminate it in "minimal mode" but I don't want ALL the info to go away.

COME ON BMW!

I set a shortcut to view total mileage using the 1-8 short cut keys. The info can be found under car data in the i-drive menu. When you go to car data, go to trip information and then set a short cut to "factory"

Same here. I would have liked to see it on the live cockpit (although your mileage does flash for a second as you shut the car down). I think if it's between miles until empty or total miles, I would rather miles until empty. More useful everyday.

Agreed. I would rather have the current set up. Miles remaining , clock and outside temperate all in one row is perfect.
