Non run-flat replacement?

I want to swap out the tires on my 330i and get NRF. Any experience with what tires work best? I want a good blend of performance and decent longevity. The Pirelli Cinturato's on my GT are great. Any other recommendations? Currently on 225/40/19 all around.

dr_frankfurter ,

I swapped out the run flats on my car for Michelin A/S 3+ -- might now have A/S 4.

For quite some time, on all my cars I've had got Michelins after OEMs wore out.

Michelins generally have been good for 40K+ miles and have excellent handling characteristics

Hope that helps

Thanks, I was eyeing the Pilotsport 3+ and 4s as well. How's tire noise and comfort? I'm assuming better with NRF?

I see you are in LA. I have heard that the A/S 3 are very good in many areas and as a general choice probably can't be beat.

However, if you consider yourself an enthusiastic driver, go for Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and don't look back. All season tires are an inherent compromise for enthusiasts as they will never grip as well as a summer tire in dry or wet. In LA you should be able to run these year round. I run these half the year in Cleveland for the last 5 years and I've never had a better tire for my BMWs!

Mind you, I've never been able to run them year round so I can't comment on longevity but would imagine they'd go to 20,000 at least.

This is the tire BMW should be equipping their performance models with as OEM like AMG does! I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll be on my car when I take delivery.

-EndOfAnEra- Ikester19 TiMSport Thank you all, I'm sold. I'll contact the shop and see how soon they can get their hands on some PS 4's. We see rain here maybe two months out of the year, at best. I'll be more than fine with that kind of weather.

I have always been amazed at how well Michelin's PS series performance tires perform in the rain, it's remarkable really.

I've always had Bridgestone, Continental, and Pirelli's on my cars. Excited to see how the Michelins feel.

Agree with the logic and recomendation. PS4S without doubt for LA if not heading into the mountains for skiing, etc. No reason for an all season tire, with its compromises.

The ride is excellent; noise is MUCH less than the OEM run flats -- and they handle quite well on the track!

Lucky bunch over on that side of the pond I wonder if it has anything to do with their performance in the wet?
