Maps 2023-4 now on the download manager

I updated to 2023-4 before it was removed from the download manager and haven't had any issues.

Did a 160mile round trip yesterday with no problems.

I'm beginning to wonder if there was a problem with the 2023-4 version and that's why it appears to have been withdrawn.

Where would that leave those who did manage to install 2023-4?

Same here.

That being said I might try to reinstall when it comes back on stream just to be sure.

I was thinking of doing that - assuming that the car will perform an update using the same version as that already installed.

So does mine, I did a 110 mile round trip on Wednesday without any problems.

Just can't help wondering why it seems to have been withdrawn - especially in light of BMW's poor track record when it comes to software, updates, Apps, etc.

Yes you've got me thinking the same thing. As far as your earlier question about installing a previous map version, I haven't a clue whether or not that can be done. I know you used to be able to do it with software upgrades on an iMac for example but not sure if even that can be done now.
No doubt some 'genius' at Connected Drive won't have a bloody clue either!

Ive still got 2023-3 on a USB I will try in car later to see what it says on screen and report back regarding installing previous versions.

That would be excellent and really helpful. If it works then there may be others on here will give that a try, I may well be one of them!

Plugged in USB with 2023-3 and the following came on screen.

USB device does not contain a more recent version of the navigation data. Start update anyway?

Obviously didn't want to go any further as I'm running 2023-4 with no problems to note, hope this helps regarding installing previous versions.

That's good to know. I'm in the same boat as you at the moment though since 2023-4 doesn't seem to be running with any issues apparent.

Just an FYI here:

2023-4 LIVE is out(for idrive 7).

2023-4 JOY is NOT out (for idrive 8).

These are the full Europe updates.

The UK IE part is available for JOY as on OTA update.

Joy 2023-4 should be out in the next 3 weeks

Each Head unit revision has a different kind of maps (the 8.5 systems get "JOY EVO")

Download Manager is still showing 2023-3 for me.

I managed to get 2023-4 when it first appeared fleatingly, and was intending to re-install 2023-4 when it became available again, just in case there was something wrong with the first release. Having said that, if there was a problem, I would expect BMW to release the fix as a new version number to save confusion.

Pre release, not completed QA. Basically fine but I wouldn’t bother with it until it’s out properly

If you’ve already loaded the pre QA map as I have done then if you download the future officially released map will the idrive let you replace the already installed map?

So long as the build number is higher yes. The same build might make it past QA and be released
