Early DME but latest software, still unlockable?

Hello!
My G21 was built 04/2020 so the DME should be unlockable through MHD app. But I just installed lastest iDrive software. Can this cause trouble for me to unlock it through tha app now?

I waiting for my MHD obd adapter to arrive, so I can't check if it is or not. Anyone know answer to this?

Not all but most of them.
Some really early DME can be unlocked via OBD but i´m not sure if MHD or other apps are able to.

The early can be unlocked by MHD. The later ones (06/2020 and later) are the new locked Bosch DME that requires bench unlock by Femto. But I got confused when MHDs site state this red text. Thats why I was wondering if mine got locked through OTA software update 2023-03

but dont the new software versions lock the DME, ive got a 05/19 DME and ive checked with the MHD app and it has told me i need a bench unlock.

I suppose if its never had a software update then an ODB unlock would be possible

Yeah pretty sure that you need a bench unlock with 2023-03 on a pre 06/2020 DME.

It's a combo of build date on the vehicle to easily determine if the DME is post 06/2020 and the version of software on the car. Sometime in 2019 (I think 11/2019), they software locked the DME preventing flashing via 3rd party tools via the OBD. This affected all of the tuning software and requires a bench unlock if the software was updated, even if the DME Is pre-06/2020. It can be bench unlocked but if you ever updated the software again via dealer or OTA, it will lock it again requiring another bench unlock.
