It's all very...cold.
Where's all the "it'll be as fun to drive at 30 kph as it is on a track flat-out" or "the steering feel has been improved 10x so you can really feel the car and how much front axle grip is remaining" or even "we spent ages creating a car that has layers and takes years to learn and unlock". Nope, just more dulling of the feedback with limits that are even further from being approached on a road. |

I sense a continued divergence between driver and machine.

Can’t wait for this car. I have 100% trust in the development team. This dude is exactly how I want a German car manufacturer to act. Cold, calculated and and unapologetic. Newer always = better when it comes to performance cars.

Their marketing department stay taking L's. Between this useless ass video and the " all new M3" video which has a camouflaged car. I can't even take them serious anymore.

I understand the automatic version getting the cheap floating rear caliper, but the manual should at least get a fixed rear caliper and a manual ebrake. Just wished BMW cost cut somewhere else imo. Ugly ass car that is going to look better at track height and aero.

The new M3/M4 customers want is a 340i with wider fenders and a higher price, same ride, no noises, no track anything. New M5 customers wanted quicker acceleration but same softness. So M changed to sell exactly that and then the people that made M special left including me. |

Fully agreed. I'm sure if he could, he would have said the car's shit doesn't stink.
I get that this forum is for BMW enthusiasts but that does not mean that we just simply take biased opinions as the final word. What the hell was the guy supposed to say, really. You mean to tell me that all of his findings while driving it on the track are completely new to him? He has hired people to give the final say on whatever element in engineering that needs to be finalized. I would love for any company man to say "we could've done this better, we could've done that better…" lol |

But a 340i with wide fenders and no track anything, don't think so. This will blow the doors off the F8X on track.

These forums use to be all of us awing at the car and bragging about how it is so much better than, mercedes, audi, porsche, infinity, Cadillac , lexus etc. Now its just people saying come on give this car a chance. We are on these forums because we loved BMWs from before we could drive. We have lived through 2 BMW generations before we could drive, and maybe another before justifying paying for one or more. We know these cars even though we have not owned them all. We wanted most of them until now. Paul Rosche is gone, Biermann left, BMW have no F1 team. Might be time to look elsewhere for a proper driving experience.

I forgot to mention, why is he wearing gloves? It's not like he pushed the car enough to have sweaty hands.
If you're going to tease us with a video, tease us with a legit video. One that wets our appetites. I'll make it easy for you BMW. Give me info on what's changed. Three facts on suspension tuning or how steering has improved and I bet you 99% of the people here would have been much happier. Instead, we get a video of an engineer with gloves on for no apparent reason telling us that in his opinion the car will be great in six months. I don't think it took a rocket scientist to figure that out by where we are in the development process. People are passionate about these cars. Some of us grew up with the e36's, e39's during our childhood so the expectation and the standard is set VERY high. BMW just doesn't seem to be meeting those standards that the devoted drivers have set these days. Did he go over 50 at all? Didn't seem like it

100% agree, the internet is a free for all for opinions to be voiced, and you can bet if a company is making decisions that a passionate fanbase isn't happy about, that have stuck with and grown up with a brand for years, you bet there will be bitching. You can't get an issue fixed without speaking on behalf of the problem. And to the people who think this is a BMW forum specific issue, the MB, Audi, Genesis and even Lexus forums have plenty of bitching too.

I think it's premature to evaluate the upcoming M3/M4 based on a video from someone who is perhaps rarely in front of the camera.
He has a job to do and the first test drive will be a better forum for gaging the final product. |

Nope. They should have foregone the AWD and stick with DCT.
