You are fortunate to get a quick build slot!
I ordered my M440 Gran Coupe at the end of January with an estimated delivery date of end of June. |

My CA actually traded with another dealership for an allocation, and it was already scheduled for week 14. All he had to do was change the specs to mine and all was good. This is the 2nd BMW that I have bought with him. The 1st was a X5 45e that I gave him the order on January 6th and the car was delivered to me on February 10.

Checked my status this morning and it is still at the port.
Sometimes it takes a couple of days for the status to change but not holding my breath that it is on a boat heading to the USA. |

Hi @[X5-G05-45e] and @[24-M440i], couple of questions for you both, if you don't mind sharing with someone who is also leaning towards a factory ordered G26 as you both did. How did you both do on pricing? Were you able to get below MSRP, if so, what percentage?
And a second question, even though it's only ever her and me in the car, my wife is is pushing a bit for me to consider an X4 M40i instead of the Gran Coupe. Did either of you cross shop those two? If you did, how do they compare (knowing we're talking an SUV vs a sedan). Dealers near me have M340i's and X3 M40i's but not the X4 or Gran Coupe, so I was only able to test drive a 430 Gran Coupe, not an M440. The 430 felt underpowered to me and rear visibility was not great, but backup cam mostly fixes that....Recently traded in the M340i I bought in 2020, so on the hunt for my next daily driver. |

I did not look at the X3 or X4 as I wanted to get back into a sedan. I live in Traverse City MI (northern lower Michigan) so I went with xDrive and the all-season non run flat tires. The power and handling were exactly what I was missing and placed my order. I expect to get $2000 off sticker but that is the best I can expect. I am single and my dog is the only rider I have had in the back seat in 2 or 3 years so the GC with the hatchback is perfect for me. I am 73 and I am treating myself because I can. My M440i GC is still sitting at the Bremerhaven port as of this morning so delivery should be mid to late May hopefully. |

Hi Currently drive a 2019 GMC Terrain Denali. So, for a change i only wanted to look into sedans . Then i started my research online. I liked BMW M440i compared to any options out their. But still i test driven some Audi, Benz cars but my mind was stuck on M440i. So, i went to my bmw dealer and asked to test drive an M440i. But they only have M340i in-stock. So, i have driven the car and i am impressed with it. But i didn’t like the front end of M340i compared M440i and also have the practicality of the SUV like trunk in the 4 series. So, i decided to go with M440i GC. At that point they had one coming in couple of weeks. But i was like i am spending 70K anyway. So, lets customize the vehicle and order it and waiting for 6 months more to get your car. The other reason i went with M440i is it looks distinct from other BMW’s when people look at you on the road.. At this point i didn’t get any discounts of MSRP. I don’t know if i will get any discounts on the price. If i don’t get any discount i am still ok with it. Because i ordered the car how i liked it. If it was in-stock at the dealership i would have negotiated because of the feature’s or the options it had or didn’t. I don’t think they will negotiate the price because 4 series is one the best selling cars in the BMW’s line up. When i ordered my car in Jan 2023 they were still selling 2023 but my dealer didn’t have any allotments. But i still ordered it any way. When they received an allotment on feb 28th. They told me i am getting 2024 model instead of 2023 with new infotainment system. So, i was like it was worth to wait for 6 months and getting new infotainment instead of spending 70k and getting old and out dated infotainment system. @X5-G05-45e, I'm in New England so with weather, potholes and comfort being concerns for me too, I'm also looking at xDrive and non-run flats. The hatchback is big draw for me as well, I had a 440i Gran Coupe I bought in 2017, and dropping groceries or golf clubs and the occasional large item into the back was a breeze compared to the coupes and sedans I've had. You spec'ed yours very close to how I would and you chose, in my opinion, the best color (Tanzanite). In my many years of owning cars, I have been complimented only one time on the color of my car. And that was when I was driving the Tanzanite M340.
@24-M440i, agreed on the new iDrive 8. I know it's controversial in a lot of the forums here, but I've been driving BMWs since 2007-2008, and the iDrive I had way back then didn't feel all that different than the one in my 2020 M340. Sure, they eventually went to the iPad embedded in the dash look, but I feel like that design language is outdated and the new big screen iDrive 8 looks a lot more modern. Some say it's 'bolted on' but to me it looks great, actually looks like something from the 2020's instead of something from the 2010's. Also agree on the uniqueness of the Gran Coupe. I see 330's everywhere, and the guy who lives next door to me bought an M340i a year after I bought mine lol. 3 series are common, but I have only seen like two 4 series GC's over the past year or more. Nice to drive a car that doesn't look like so many others out there. Hope the wait is over quickly for you both! |

Found a schedule for Wallenius & Wilhelmsen RORO carriers leaving Bremerhaven over the next couple of weeks.
Maybe our cars that have been patiently waiting at the port will be able to get on one of them if not the 4/25 one. |

As of 6:00 PM EDT 4/24 my status is still at the port, so I doubt that it made the Brooklands car carrier.
Maybe the WW carrier scheduled to leave Bremerhaven on 4/25? |

I would expect that both of you should be getting on the next ship. I've been watching the i4 forums since they have more people waiting for cars from Germany. My 2024 M440i GC arrived at the port on 3/31 and was loaded onto the Orion Highway on 4/11. It just docked at Baltimore today.
