Is the Dealer extended warranty worth it?

I just ordered my first 2023 BMW 330i xDrive M sport (should arrive any week now) was wondering if it is worth purchasing the extended warranty from the dealer or get a third party? they typically cost an arm and a leg and dont cover the necessary when you're in a bind.

I live in NY and certainly considering the tire/rim protection since the roads are pretty bad here.

the wheel and tire you can only buy when you sign. once the car leaves the lot you are no longer able to buy that from BMW

Unless you drive fast over a lot of potholes and have low profile tires, the wheel/rim warranty isn't worth it. After paying into it a couple years, you could have bought new tires and wheels from Tire Rack.
Just added profit for the closer at the dealership.

I have purchased the extended warranty, the 6-years/100K miles, on my last 2 BMW’s. Traded my 2014 435 with 97K miles and used the extended warranty to replaced the head unit, that alone more than paid for the cost of the extended warranty. My next car, and current car, a 2019 440, also has the extended warranty. It has also paid for itself with the replacement of the steering rack ($6K+) two years ago and recently the ECU. Again, both these items were priced well over the the cost of the warranty.

For me it started out as a piece of mind purchase and ended up being a good financial decision.
