how to use e on BM3
So I’m about to receive my ecu back from femto and I’m really excited to run e, but I was thinking about it yesterday and I wanted to make sure I do it correctly. I don’t really need help with the whole mixing process, but like how do I go about it, meaning like do I drive the car to the gas station on stage 2 91 and then after I fill do I just go into the app and switch it to the e40 ots?

Yeah fill up and then flash the map. You technically can flash it and drive there if it's a short drive. Just don't go WOT at all. I used to do that on F30 N55 car. BM3 has multimaps now for the m340i I thought? You should be able to just change maps on the steering wheel to that map. I could be wrong I am on ecutek so I am not 100% sure.

They dont have ots e40, rather its either an E30 or E50 ots. It comes with one free map and then you can buy additional maps. I’ve gone the custom way so I rarely used the ots maps. Anyway, its perfectly fine to do the flash before you put in the mix, just dont go HAM on the pedal. |

If you’re manually mixing make sure you test the E content of the pump you’re using, pumps range from e60-e85.
Currently map switching via CAN bus is only for the multimap which is a flex fuel tune. You would have to download the tune to your account and flash in the E tune of your choice to switch maps. I’m currently on e55 with stock fuel system, BM3 + flex fuel sensor running OTS multimap (map switching/anti lag). You can see in this log on e52 the HPFP has no signs of drop. HPFP angle is under 90deg, max is 128. https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=64c9...729b9cf06b0af4 |

if you are using E85 on a regular basis, I recommend you get the flex fuel kit to know the Ethanol mix everytime you fill up.

I probably won’t use it regularly, but I still want a sensor just because of how cool it would be to just fill up e without measuring.

Also Mike, do you reccomend I upgrade my spark plugs at all as a precaution since I’ll be tuned now? Any other general maintenance you have in mind would be greatly appreciated as well, thanks.

You could just use the multimap, which has flex fuel capabilities. ECU will auto adjust based of E content.
