Kidney Chrome Coverup?

Has anyone considered other options to change or cover the grill's chrome trim besides the M accessories black grill? I've always replaced with black but the larger, connected trim makes it look like a gaping hole. I've considered CF or a wrap to tone down (like the M340 trim). I take delivery at the end of the month.

When I ordered my F30 335i I bought a body color (Mineral Gray) set of kidneys. To my surprise when my car arrived it had black M Performance kidneys installed at no charge, so I ended up selling the gray kidneys.

There is only one solution: gold-plate.

I agree, on the 'gaping hole', after seeing pictures with full black grilles. Grilles are out of proportion to look good in black, with many body colours. Whether some sort of colour coded variation will work, I'm yet to be convinced.

From the UK configurator since you can't select the black grill on the US version yet.

Seems to me if black kidneys make the grills look larger, then body color kidneys would have to make the kidneys look smaller. 🤔

Could be on picture, but left no such impressions when seeing it in person. I guess those interested will just have to see and decide.

I think the grilles look great in all black. Sure they’re bigger than the previous generation but not out of proportion.

For some perspective...
