M340i xDrive Track Review: MotoManTV

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I didn't know if this had been posted, but I thought I'd do so anyway.

A very good short review of the new M340i with some good information and honest opinions. Should be very interesting to see what the car magazines and other reviewers think of the car.

Good video. Thanks for posting. In North America the manual transmission take rate for the F3x was probably less than 5%. Maybe 25% on the world stage.

Great video.

So if somebody was about to buy a three series and they could buy one of these brand new or spend that same sum of money on a certified preowned M3 from the prior generation which do you buy and why?

The reviews of this car sound great but I can't help wondering if the money would be better spent on a barely used M3!

I can't help but think the reasons to take the 340 would include:

Technology advances
New styling (very subjective)
Practicality (gas, ins, drivability)

Just playing devils advocate here..

With the deals they got on the outgoing M3, you might be able to get a new one for the same price.

First year models are risky and dealers are usually not willing to negotiate. I would buy an outgoing model for the right deal. I would not care about missing the new tech.

I do like the idea of a "G" series. Thanks for posting. Looks like a fun car.

the answer is based on the individual with what their preferences are on the options and what their financial situation is at the time. a 2-3 year old M car follows a roughly 50% depreciation route. there's pros and cons to buying new and used and the list can go on forever. really it's the buyer's preference.

M3 in manual, hands down. In fact, this is going to be my next big decision in a year from now: manual M2C lease or used manual M3 finance...

Same reasons why I bought my 60+k 2018 340. Better comfort when commuting, awd, great lease rates, and its new.

It's fast enough, comfy, gets around well in the snow, and can also do some track time.

M3 without hesitation. While the M340 may prove to be a great car, you'll always be thinking "what if I got the M3 instead?"

another spec sheet car reviewer. just watch the track sessions. way too much breaking at any turn. attempts to keep revs up and the engine boiling, nope.
