Hi there,

I have placed an order for an M340i LCI - which should arrive late this year.

Just wanted to see if anyone has installed M Performance Exhausts to their M340i in Australia and if so, how much it cost them? Just want to see if I can afford this as I heard only great feedback from the owners overseas who had this installed in their vehicles.

Hey Haruman,

I can do $5,500 installed on the M340i M Performance exhaust, possibly a bit less if you bundle the MPE into an order with a few other small goodies. :-)

I'm based in Sydney with a very highly modified G20 M340i too. ;-)

Has anyone got a link to a video of how the performance exhaust sounds?

The installation is literally a breeze. All you need is a couple ramps/jack stands, an exhaust cutter from Amazon, and a socket set. Also, an exhaust hanger removal tool is helpful but not necessary. I’m a big DIYer but not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination. I easily installed the exhaust in about an hours time. There are plenty of YouTube videos that walk you through the process.

You're spot on, unfortunately the issue here in Australia is that there aren't many options to purchase the exhaust from. International shipping and duties make importing one unrealistic. Fortunately though, if buying locally, the installation charges are pretty reasonable when compared to the cost of the exhaust.

There are options for exhausts but yes you are right they are notoriously difficult to track down. I went with an IPE valvetronic on my M340i and it should arrive in a matter of weeks. I ordered through Justin from JD Tuning so can vouch for his work if you guys are keen on upgrades.
