Mud flaps and rear view camera.

Has anyone with a G20 saloon who has fitted rear mudflaps noticed that they help to keep the rear view camera clean?

TIA

Yes, I've got them fitted and it helps but doesn't solve the issue.

The camera/ back of the car mainly gets dirty from the water/ dirt getting caught in the air vortex that happens when driving at higher speeds. There are a few (boring) videos on youtube that show the effect.

The tourings are worse that the saloon from my experience.

As said, something is better than nothing. Tbh I'm more concerned about stone rash, particularly on the exposed leading edge of the rear bumper panel.

I had a set of OEM type off Amazon initially (ones I bought are no longer available), but didn't care for the look so fitted AP Design Arch Guards instead. Do the same job obviously but the APs are a far neater solution and barely noticeable when car is viewed side on (unlike the mud flaps) -

Got them on, don't think they make a huge difference but may help the sides stay a little cleaner.

Did you have to drill holes for these or does it use the existing holes?

If they're anything like the ones I had (they appear to be) the fronts use 2 existing pop rivet holes (so you'd need 4 new plastic rivets), an existing screw underneath the car (rear of the wheel arch), plus adhesive tape round the edge (saves crap working its way behind the mudflap.

The rears are fixed with existing screws inside the wheel arch, plus adhesive tape around the edge.
