Well i have a M235i for starters. Second, give Mike at Extreme Powerhouse a ring to clarify your questions. Apparently BM3 has cracked the "code" on the M340i as well.

I haven't checked anyone's number they're getting but I can't imagine how fast Stage 2 would be. OMG! Probably sniffing 500hp for sure.

Thanks for the reply - I guess could have been more clear with my question of you - I was really curious about your own personal experience with your M340 flash - but in that you don't drive an M340 (duh I could looked at your sig) my question was misguided.

For what it's worth...early software revs for the M340 allow the DME to be unlocked remotely (and then flashed) while later revs require a bench unlock before flashing...this presently holds true for all tuners - I was just curios if you had an early or let rev

Anyhoo....enjoy that M235, such a fun car to toss around :-)

Well actually I had a 2012 335xi where my tuner had to take out the DME (unlock), did what he did and on straight pipes, catless dp, I had my last dyno put up 380hp/500tq to the crank which was good running on 93. Nonetheless, I'm liking my BM3 stage 1 ... for now.

I need a M3 now...

Love this car but have noticed this is where something like an F80 would start pulling on it hard. Still undecided about a tune- thinking I'd go for a piggy if anything
I've read this is a limitation of the transmission preventing the power from getting through properly due to torque restrictions. Supras seem to share the same problem,

Interesting. Is a tune the only way to fix this?

I believe so, but I haven't seen any available yet to purchase. Just custom stuff.

Weird that this doesn't seem to be more of a topic of convo here. It's not a issue per se and doesn't seem to be that big of a deal but it's def noticeable at times when I'm mashing the pedal and flying through the gears.

And it only seems to be 3rd gear when I notice this? It's almost like the tranny pauses for a split second

When you get BM3 one of the options you can code it TRANSMISSION RESPONSE/SHIFT. My tech asked me and I said yes so get that done for sure and you will happy I'm sure.

Appreciate it! Still kinda hesitant to tune the car at this point but guess we'll see

Gents-
Would a zero to some slightly illegal speed video of my MP stage 1 car accelerating from inside the cabin looking at the gauges help regarding the shift issue? If yes - I'll see what I can do later today - it is not present in my car :-)

okay here's a video I just took of my Mission Performance Stage 1 M340 doing a pull from 12mph - 105mph. Video isn't the greatest but you'll get the idea.

Figured I would provide this as reference for anyone experiencing the shift delays mentioned in this thread - something to compare to.

Hope this helps. Sorry for the wind noise - I should have closed my window :-)

ps- I'll probably start a new thread with a link to the video so it's easier to find

Does mission tune the transmission control unit?

I will ask him in person when I see him this Thursday at his shop. That said he was the first to crack the TCU in the 340 and offer it as a compliment to his 340 B58 engine tune - so I'll be interested to hear what he has to say about our cars.

I've been hearing that Dinan will be dropping a tune pretty soon. Think I'm going to wait.

Dinan won’t make a legit flash tune that can compete with bm3 or mhd unfortunately it’s going to be similar to a jb4 unit

Dinan sells flash maps now although it's going to be the same as any other flash map, voids warranty and lease. The difference is with Dinan they charge more but provide a gap warranty to match the OEM warranty.

JB4 remains the only 50-state CARB legal B58 tune that can be installed and removed without a trace.

Check out Carbahn, after Steve Dinan sold the Dinan brand he started carbahn, an article I read said he took many of the old Dinan tuners to carbahn. They offer a full DME tune for m340 which I'm considering.

That's not entirely correct. BMW can look at raw data and tell if the car has been tuned, there is no way to tune you vehicle without BMW knowing. Just keep in mind if you do serious damage to the engine/transmission you will be on the hook for the charges.

I don't see a tune for the 2020 M340i only the 340i.
