They did a great job with this car.
I only wish they had never moved away from their traditional grill, then this would not have been so controversial now. Imagine how freaked out everyone would have been then if they went to squashed up narrow grills now. LOL!!

Yup, being desensitized to the looks is a prerequisite for purchasing the car.
That's why the reveal process has gone on for so long.... seriously.

Only one thing I see here...not a BMW from so many aspects...

But one thing I'm asking myself, what comes after this?? They can't make the grill any bigger, so do they go back to smaller ones (but how to defend the current decision and admit they failed) or do they get rid of the kidneys completely?
One can not believe, but so many typicall BMW design elements have disappeared, so maybe the kidneys are next on their list....

Can you imagine what they said about BMW design in the 60s when compared to the 50s. This design trend is not new! Why are people so hung up on progress? Stuck in a space that is familiar and comfortable.

Gosh, imagine if BMW were stuck there!

Btw, origional BMWs had huge kidneys, forgot? No body screwed up anything.

It's growing on me and I think it will look even better in real life. One thing is for certain, it will have a lot of road presence.

Most ppl have a lot of negativity when BMW launches a new model, how ugly it is compared to previous gens etc etc, then in 12 months all the haters will want to own one lol..

Facts. A lot of people hated on the e90 which came out after e46 it was a major change and people didn't like it. History repeats itself

I understand people who say they like it but I don't understand people who say "at least it's different". I mean either you like it or you don't. Saying you like the "differentness" of it is a sign of being in denial.

But I honestly think the car is repulsive from the front. The japanese looking back is okay in my book, but the front is just a complete nightmare. Lack of a dynamic profile at the side also doesn't help much. I'd to see this parked next to a well maintained pre-LCI E92.

A sad departure indeed. This used to be such an athletic looking coupe in previous generations. What has happened with the BMW 4 series design team? M3/M4 design team? I really hope this design language doesn't permeate across the BMW line.

At least BMW has kept the exhaust and tips as the real deal.

IMO the Mercedes trend to have fake exhaust tips even on a real AMG is creeping into BMW.

It's taken a while, but BMW has pulled out their version of the Mustang II.

Adding insult to injury they are going to start charging for heated seats and other options.
