Even if you use esys (Launcher, X, Plus) instead of Vimercode, it does not apply to gasoline vehicles after the March 23 version.
Of course, it is basic to work after entering diagnostic mode. The same story was said in Car Technology, but it does not apply to general memory coding. Or is there a difference between European specification vehicles and other regional vehicles? |

I had fw 03/2022, 07/2022 and 11/2022 and few firmwares before.
I didn't update to 03/2023, because i didn't have time for coding (i have a lot of stuff changed for DAP). So last month i did update to 07/2023 at dealership. In last one i notice a lot of changes in coding. I compared codings from 11/2022 to 07/2023 and made changes to last FW. After that my power trunk was not working at all. Even kick to open was dead. So i checked coding in all modules. In BDC module (7083) default coding for power trunk is completely different on new FW. First time i saw that on new FW. I did the same coding on DME for ASS (like on FW 11/2022) and everything is fine. Maybe is different for another models of G20. Mine is from 01/2020, so is model from 07/2019 - 06/2020. I still have ASS button (is not MH) and HDD for music in iDrive. Last edited by panki_86; 09-01-2023 at 01:35 PM.. |

Bimmer Utility and Auto Start Stop
From earlier posts on this thread I purchased Bimmer Utility to hopefully code Auto Start Stop to either be off all the time, or remember the last setting. Older firmware you could code with BimmerCode. But the version in my car, 03/2023.67, cannot be coded with BimmerCode. Well after trying with Bimmer Utility, any coding attempts are not recognized by the car. I have tried with both iOS and Windows platforms. The results are the same as with BimmerCode, the car always has ASS enabled, unless in Sport mode. I can turn it off with the button, but on restart it is enabled again.
I will say that support at Bimmer Utility is incredibly responsive and we have been going back and forth to try different things, but no success so far. |

It certainly is starting to look like that. It’s a shame because I really don’t like Auto Start Stop and I know I’m not alone. I’m just so thankful I still have the defeat button. It’s just a matter of getting used to hitting the button every time I start the car. I know I could code to default to any Sport Mode, but would prefer not to.

Hi all,
Dealer just updated my 2021 M340ix no hybrid to 07/2023. I could use the Bummer utility cheat code on android app to code back ASS memory. Only thing I found was that the car had to be engine off and in diagnostic mode. It wouldn't code with engine running. Not sure if that will help anyone else who's trying to get ASS memory to work. |

That's encouraging. I have been waiting for an AU car to confirm whether the coding issue included our market or not. Disabling this will be one of the first things I do when I pick up my car hopefully next week.

Hi Guys, owner of 2022 M340 using ios, OBD and BimmerCode full version. Bad news ; still no success turning off ASS. BimmerCode does need an upgrade and one more upgrade you need to go to you app and manually update from the setting.
Interesting facts : being trying different ways for two days to turn off the ASS since then, had a couple times working (especially when updated bimmercode the last time) I really thought it worked when I continued hitting the break and the car didn’t die but when I pulled up the Parking gear it dies along with my dreams… when I try again the ASS just active like it always does.. I think the BimmerCode couldn’t handle this issue anymore, even though it almost got it when you update the latest version. Now I have to taste the true enjoyment from the ASS everyday… |

Finally got a chance to try this on a friend’s 2023 M340i on the 03/2023 software and it didn’t work with bimmercode on either Android or iOS. Tried Android first based on the reports above, but no joy.
Setting Sport Individual as the starting mode will have to do for now. |

I am beginning to think it has to do with what specific version of 03/2023 you have AND OR what country you are in. I think folks, like me, in North America, or USA, are the most impacted (due to regulations I guess) whereas other countries still have the ability to code, and I think some may even still have the defeat button.

I tried to disable it last night. 2022 430i came back from dealer with latest software update. Option is there but it does not seem to actually save the settings. Was using android to code.

This thread gets very confusing because most folks don’t specify exactly what vehicle they have.
Those who have been successful have a vehicle that is not a mild hybrid, which seems to be a key point. I have not seen anyone who states they personally have a mild hybrid with the latest iDrive update, and were able to code it. I believe all M340i’s in the US have been mild hybrids since about mid-2021. |
