Break service reset

Merry Christmas all..

Changed front pads, discs and wear sensor (a simple job, until on of the pad pins - brembo easy change - refused to budge, resulting in bent punch, and resorting to cutting through the pin in two places to remove pads and punch leftover!)

Went to reset the brake service light and gets to resetting bit and says reset unsuccessful. What could the problem be? Iffy sensor?

Thoughts/experiences welcomed.

One possible reason - The brake reset only works if the park brake is off.

This worked - which is odd as it was the front brakes I wanted to reset. Anyway, job done. Thanks for advice.
