Exhaust flap mod word of warning
If you unplug the cable and tie it out the way, just make sure it can't move over time and then sit against the exhaust itself....
Funnily enough hot exhaust pipe and plastic only ends one way. Luckily it was wrapped in tape which saved it a bit but still the flap is now open permanently ! I assume you can buy a replacement cable and plug but don't want a main dealer to do that as it will cost a fortune. Oh well just be warned! |

I should check mine. I've not looked since I first unplugged it when I got the car.
I had a similar issue with the Audi S4 I had and I was able to get the plug ok and fit it myself.

Crikey… I can’t believe this is still a thing.
If you remove the spring circlip and hold the flap in the open position with a bit of stainless wire, you don’t have to worry as the plug stays connected. 😉 |

mattyrallye, after discovering that the Bimmercode code option doesn't keep the valve permanently open, I'm planning to do this. Did you temporarily unbolt the motor to release the spring clip, or is it easy to compress with snipe-nosed pliers?
