Not possible to code remote start, BUT...

I will be surprised if I'm the first person to think this, but I also failed to find something resolute.

On some cars (including mine), the first owner could pay $300 to have remote start included from factory. If not, you can pay bmw $330 at any time to have remote start. Mine wasn't specced so I'd have to pay through connectedDrive.

Now I was thinking; if this is just a software unlock, there has to be some values that changed. In an ideal world we would be able to dump the values from two otherwise identically specced cars and compare their values to see which changed.

I genuinely don't think I'd be the first one to think about this, so I'm not sure why no one has done it yet. I understand it would take a decent bit of time to compare this; or maybe it's simply because bimmercode/esys can't do a hexdump so it would take hours to go through all the menus etc.

I totally forgot I even opened this thread, now that it's warming up and I won't need remote start anymore.

Was this really that stupid?

What fsc code needs to work? Is there no way to use FSC generator to generate it ourselves?

Itīs a FSC in the DME.
This has nothing to do with FSC for map update.
