Same here on the Silver Ray. Due in Baltimore 5/19-5/20. Anyone know the current processing times at the VPC? Seems all over the place but fairly quick if you don’t have m performance parts added.

My car was ordered on 03/31 scheduled for a week 18 production in the Mexico plant. It has been stuck in quality check for about 10 days now. Does anyone know what is going on?

Mine has been in “final assembly” since 4/21, or at least that is what it says on the BMW site. My CA, however, told me that it is in “Produced Not Shipped” status, 160 - Vehicle Handover to Sales. I would imagine that your car, and many others, are all produced, sitting somewhere waiting to be sent to a port to be shipped somewhere. This is a very frustrating period, waiting for some news as to the completed car getting closer to our dealerships.

Haha, I hope you guys are tracking the silver ray along with me (I know it’s a disorder). Shows what I know about shipping logistics, this thing is not progressing at all in a logical fashion, it’s just bouncing around randomly to ports on the east coast.

Yeah, I’m watching it. It was supposed to be in NJ on the 23rd. Is it not stopping in Baltimore then? Or it’s running behind? If it goes to Philly, then Baltimore, or even Philly, Newark then Baltimore, that will be something.

I called genius again today to see where the ship is at and they said it was still due to arrive in Baltimore today if all goes well. I did check the ship tracker thing and it does say philedelphia so I'm not sure why they said it would be in Baltimore today. My best guess is it stops at Bmore on the way to Philly, or the genius guy was just wrong and it goes straight to Philly. I'm inclined to believe the genius person though since they use a ship tracker themselves, but I don't know in the end.

I've been doing some research to figure out why our ship is going to PA instead of Baltimore, and in my extensive googling I found this site: http://sallaumlines.wpengine.com/sch...o-west-africa/
This is the site with schedules for the Silver Ray from the cargo ship company themselves and there schedule for the Silver Ray-G line up with our ships travel history. It looks like it is supposed to go to Jacksonville -> Philly -> Baltimore, so I think we should be the next stop after it arrives in Philly today. ETA for Philly is today May 20th according to marrinetraffic.com, so I'd expect the boat will arrive in Baltimore May 22nd. As for why the Genius person said that it was heading to Baltimore and due yesterday, well I think that is just the fact that they do not have the whole tracking information as in travel route for that cargo line ship. All they probably have is a port where the car left (Veracruz in this case), and a port where the car will land (Balitmore in this case). Anything in between the two ports that the ship is scheduled to go is probably not seen on the BMW end. |

That is next level research, I love it! So it’s going to bounce down to Baltimore and then back up to NJ. Makes absolutely no sense, but I’m sure there are a host of other factors guiding the route. Then we just have to wait for the VPC and truck and we are done!

If I'm wrong, then sorry for giving some people hope or ease of mind when there was none. I'm just trying to make sense of this very odd travel route. |

There's only one ship that goes from Altamira to the Galveston port that leaves on the 27th. My car is still in quality check but do you think it's possible that the car makes it on this boat in time? After this boat, all the other one's take 15-45 days with most being more than 30 days.

@razzle I would guess you’re going to be on that ship. Everyone seems to sit in some phase post build for a while, then it suddenly jumps ahead. You might even be farther along in the process beyond quality check. Ask your sales person to send you a pic of what they can see and you can get more detail where you’re at (or call and get lucky on the genius line with someone that can interpret the details).

Just an update for the April/Baltimore crew. My SA let me know that I cleared VPC and assigned to carrier on the 25th. No MPE parts for me. ETA Tuesday at my dealership.

Man, I really hope I can get my car by next Thursday. I’m a pilot and my schedule is really screwed after that. I’m only 120 miles from the port of Newark. Fingers crossed.
Silver Ray arrives tonight. |

Might vary by VPC and if you are getting m performance parts put on it, but I’m guessing mine was 3-4 days from offloading until it got released to carrier. Your actual transport time has to be shorter so I still think it has to be viable. Fingers crossed for you.

I’m hoping to have mine by next week as well. I was originally a March build before the delays. I’m on Olympian highway and it was scheduled to be at the port in Baltimore Wednesday. I’ve been tracking it and it appears to just be hanging out on the coast with no movement for the past 12 hours. Hopefully it docks today and I take deliver next week.
