Yea mines a us spec and i dont have the power tailgate but still can open it from the button on drivers door or use kick open feature. Its strange that europe doesnt have a trunk release button on the door bc it seems something commonly found in every other newer vechile ive ever bin in.

Us spec of European spec? If it's the first I don't really call it an comparison. I can't remember seeing a car with it ever, except on review videos.

Mine is a European spec UK right hand drive. I have the “Comfort Packagel (£990 option)

This gives

Extended Storage
Comfort Access
Bootlid (trunk) operation , powered
Steering wheel heating.

I have the boot (trunk) release button on the door. I can use the foot kick (to open and close) and a button on the boot (trunk) to close.

So looks like it is down to what options you can choose and they may be country specific.

Initially I found that using the foot kick to open and close very inconsistent but now that I’ve mastered the technique it works >90% first time.
