You can get it installed at the dealer too, they just would need to know the part number to order it (they could get the part number off of the Port Installed Options list) - The difference between Port Installed and Dealer Installed is primarily for leases as you can add a Port installed option to the MSRP of the vehicle and roll it into the lease while a dealer installed option cannot be. This is advantageous because you'd only pay the residualized cost of that option instead of the full cost of that option. For example, lets say the Exhaust costs $2000, it would add $2000 to the price you pay for the car. But it should only add roughly $800 over a 36 month lease or about $22/month to your lease.
Of course if you get it installed at the dealer you could ask them for the original exhaust or if you lets say installed it yourself you could do the same. Then when it was time to turn in the lease again you could take off the exhaust and try to sell it. Lets say it costs $2000 and you're able to somehow sell it used for $1200, it would be roughly the same. You could come out ahead if you could sell it for more. But in the lease example you don't have to go through the hassle of trying to sell it. |

So after driving the car a little more - I noticed driving the car with the Engine in Sport Plus mode for Sport Individual mode (or simply in Sport Plus) - the engine feels like it has just as much punch, but probably more than in my 2017 340i. In Sport mode, it doesn't feel as punchy. The car is definitely faster - it feels really quick in Sport Plus mode. In Sport plus mode with the windows down and when you step on the gas - you can clearly hear the turbo spooling - it is awesome. Louder than in the 2017 340i for sure.
One additional annoyance - there is only one 12v Socket in the front of the car. I liked that the F30 had a 2nd 12v Socket in the passenger footwell - I used to hook up my Dashcam there. Now there is only one in the front, one in the back seats and one in the trunk. |

Exhaust info?
Driving a C43 now but placed an order for an M340.
Everyday I wait I’m sad because I love my AMG exhaust. Does anybody have specifics on how to help my CA track down adding a port install for the exhaust? Part number maybe? |

Curious if any other owners have migrated from the F30 to G20 and have strong opinions.
I went from a F30 335i, which I really liked but never really felt super "alive" or thrilling to drive to a M235i, which was so much more fun to drive. Then I bought a house and had a kid so have spent a few years away from the brand (GTI was cheap, but too small, now a Mazda CX9 which is great but too big, and I'm making my wife upgrade to the big SUV so I don't have to have one). I'm in the northeast, so I'm weighing buying a E92 or F82 M3 and the potential challenges finding the right spec + condition, vs just looking at the G20 more seriously. I hated the way it looks at first, but perhaps it's slowly grown on me. Interesting to hear any long term feedback from people who might have leased both long term (couldn't find a better thread than this one).

I went from a 2013 335 to a 2016 340 w/ MPPSK and just picked up my M340. I think it is an improvement in just about every way. I do miss my 6MT, but can do without. The exhaust note is a bit weaker too, but there is a fix for that.

I’d wait a bit. I came from a C43 and while the exhaust isn’t as loud (or obnoxious), I think you will like the different type of sound an in-line six makes. Mine has 2k on it and the sound is working in nicely.

There should be a button on the side of the headrest to fold it back. Here in Canada i can fold back all three rear headrests.
