Did anyone else lose the ability to remote start their car or set a departure timer on the ConnectedDrive app? I had my car since November and it was working fine but around 2 days ago the 2 buttons just went away.

Tried reinstalling the app on my phone and I tried deleting my car off the app and re-adding it back in. Also confirmed that the remote start option is checked in the iDrive settings. Confirmed I can still remote start with my key fob.

I'm on 7/2019.55 and never had an update.

Yes, I lost this functionality on the Android version of Connected App. FYI, this functionality (and more) is available on IOS.

Why does the Connected App not offer the same functionality on the two platforms? Frustrating!

Damn. Just checked my Android app and it's gone too! Probably removed in the last update. I hope they bring it back ASAP.

Same here, I think they are doing stuff in the background prepping for the Android Auto update for iDrive 7 which will likely need some work to the CD app.

Yeah after checking the recent reviews on the Play store it seems like a widespread thing.

I only wish that when they pushed the change to remove remote start from the app they also put a message or something to let you know that it was intentional and maybe an ETA on when to expect it back. It would've prevented all the confusion.

The button is back and remote start works fine, but the legal disclaimer is more elaborate -- lawyers at it

It’s available only if the car is equipped with remote start. Not sure if EU cars have it.

No difference on the last few days on my 330e (never had engine start, but climatize was working yesterday and today just fine).

Also had to accept a new disclaimer that I didn't read

probably not. I have never heard about it.

Just depends on the laws in your country which BMW uses to decide if they should offer remote start in that market.

For example in Germany it's illegal to have the engine running at all with nobody in the driver's seat so they don't offer remote start in that market.

The US is a pretty gray area since it's different for each state so I guess BMW decided to offer it here and just put a disclaimer saying it might not be legal in your area. In the NYC area I believe it's a 3 minute limit for idling.

Mine was gone too, right after the software upgrade. Went to the service and learned how to bring it back. Go to Car Settings, Climate options and you should see there is a Remote Start checkbox there, which is checked off and turned back to default with the software upgrade. The service tech turned it on and then the Ventilate Now option turned to Remote Start on the IOS app.
