BlackVue 900dc won’t stay on in parking mode with battery pack

Title says it all. I used the one thread of that guy from Australia to hardwire my BlackVue dashcam using the hardwire kit and battery expansion pack. For whatever reason, it will not stay powered on. I have it into one of the fuses in the trunk fuse panel according to the guide from the thread but I’m puzzled as to why it won’t turn on upon startup or stay powered on during parking times.

Any help is appreciated.

I actually just installed this today using the same method and found that my ground was the issue.

I don't know if you did this as well but I put the ground wire in between the bolt and the black brace originally. Instead, you need to put it completely under the battery brace.

Thanks for the heads up. I just checked and my ground is under the battery brace.

Does your unit function properly when it's plugged into the 12v socket?

Yes it does. I have it plugged into the 12v socket in the trunk and it works great, even goes in and out of parking mode as designed. But is there a danger of running out my battery using this method?

I'm sure someone can correct me but I think the 12v sockets shut off after 7 minutes. The only thing I can think of would be the connections on your butt connector.

Yeah so using the fuse tap I had to recrimp a new butt connector onto it and restrip the ends of the wires because for some reason it wouldn't make a clean connection.
