That is the normal process to make any coding changes, I understand that

But now what happens next time I want to make a change.

If I follow the steps above, is it loading the ECU file WITH the changes I've already made

I read the instructions for loading the new FA into the car , with calculating FA -> Write FA FP to master

Once that is the done the FA is now what the car loads everytime is my understanding, but does the FA contain all the ECU data, or is that the SVT ?

Do I need to save the modified SVT file to the car so it loads the proper ECU data each time?

Just trying to avoid having to code things if I make a change, having to recode things I've already done because it got changed back to factory default

I really do not understand what it is you are asking. Process you described as "normal process" is FDL Coding.

FDL Coding stays as is until you change the FDL Code, or you VO Code ECU based on FA.

If you modify FA and write it to car, by itself it does nothing. This FA still has to loaded into coding module, activated, and car VO Coded with it.

Yeah you basically answered it for me, I'm still getting the hang of all the acronyms and terms used and how they apply to the car itself.

So basically everything you FDL code stays as such unless replaced by another FDL code, or VO coding of the FA (which would overwrite the entire ECU being coded)

PS: Anything else new and exciting to try and play with for coding? I have applied all the latest you've discovered, need a new challenge

I have no idea about new 2020 M340i coding's. I have F06 and F15, so nothing with same Target.
